Yeah, I have very little in the way of Bits, but it does seem a good idea.

Its really no differant than any other tradeing or bartering site. Its only works well if both parties follow through on the bits trade. What you useually end up with is a whole lot of people looking for bits (useually the best hard to get parts of models) with nothing to offer back.

I can\'t see GW letting this one stay around. They give too many extra bits with their minis, to not be pissed people are trading them instead of buying more boxed sets.
For example I love some of the bits that come with the undead and skaven sprues, and I love to use them on my Orcs, but to do that now I need to buy a box of Skaven, a box of Undead and a Box of Orcs. With a site like this I could just trade my extra orc bits for the skaven bits I want, etc. Thereby \'robbing\' GW of two sales.

Speaking of skaven bits, I have loads of them. Well, that\'s what you\'d expect from having a skaven army with 450 or so models in it.

Gavin I hope your not being serious here.. every major forum out there has people tradeing bits.. thats why this isn\'t origional..or new.. just a shiny new website on an old idea.

The difference with a forum is that the site is dedicated to something else, and trading bits is not the sites main function. There is no way GW could ever hope to find every forum and stop trading, that would be insane. But a site set up dedicated to doing so, I just have a feeling they may have an issue with it. It could just be the left over bad taste from that whole IP thing tainting my view.

I\'m having a hard time imagining what GW could do.
They could certainly write nasty letters asking for the site to be closed, but I doubt there would be any legal stick to wave.

I can\'t see how they\'d have a leg to stand on. After-market trading of consumer goods goes on everywhere and is perfectly legal. Even using the brand \"Ford\" or \"Chevrolet\" in a car ad is not illegal, just descriptive.

Exactly: GW\'s only problem with BWBitz is that BWB let you order directly online through an online shopping cart, which GW doesn\'t allow from independant resellers -- phone and mail orders only. BWB is still allowed to sell their bitz direct, they\'re just being forced to a phone-order system instead of the online cart.
For a site like www.RaidMyBitzBox.com, where there\'s no money changing hands, no shopping cart, no \"store proprietor\" so to speak... there\'s really not much GW can do.
