Raphael Brushes

Hey, I heard someone in another thread state they use a Raphael brush and prefer it over their W&N series 7.

I love my Series 7 and can\'t imagine a better brush but I figure I\'ll order some of those. problem....

-Excuse the Ignorance but Raphael is the brand name, and not some sort of new brush type, correct?

-To any who use these, what is the model number you prefer?

I think I heard someone say they liked these brushes because they were more firm (Is that called snap?) and that might work with my style.

Thanks to any who can help.

Love,

Scott.

i prefer the raphael 8404 for general painting and the w+n 7\'s for freehand and eyes due to the slimmer heads.

just my preferance.

am using 8404 size 2 and 0 (replacement for my W&N 0). the brushes are longer and so hold more paint, sz 2 is ideal for basecoat, the 0 is a little harder to use, i find it takes alot more brush control and concentration to use because its longer. Ultimatley thats prob down to the fact that iv used W&N for so long, but with a bit of practice i think i could get finer results with the Raph brushes.

next set of brushes ill prob order are W&N miniature series, see the other end of the scale

Holy Smokes! Anyone know of a good distributor for these, Candadian would be a bonus.

The only dealer I could google needs a 250$ minimum order to get them to me from New Jersey.

Thanks to anyone!

Thanks very much! Order is up, up, and away! 42.00 for a 3/0, 0, 1, 2, didn\'t seem to bad.!

I am getting ready to be molested on the shipping/duty costs though.

Thanks again. Now I can start pounding out those 9.5 scoring models easy!

Anybody recommend a UK supplier? I\'ve got a variety of W&N\'s but from things I\'ve heard/read the 8404\'s sound like a better option for the bulk of painting.

For people in U.S. who want to order brush only, I also recommend Dakota Art Brush. You can find some quality brushes with good price in the watercolor brush section. And shipping is $5 only.
