Congratulations Ritual. I\'d like to go there, one day, when my health is better. I notice you didn\'t say Matty or Tim were top blokes. ;)

And bad airport staff. Bad, bad people. Hang them hight, I say!

No, they were assholes! lol

No, seriously, they were also great guys. I actually didn\'t talk to anyone at all who didn\'t seem like a really nice person. All the people there were so generous and enthusiastic.

Thanks Alex! :) Sorry you couldn\'t make it there... it would have been nice meeting you and seeing your stuff. But, I\'m definitely going to enter more competitions like this one so, maybe next time!

Congrats again Anders!

I didn\'t place which i\'m not disappointed about at all. The quality was so high, even for beginners.
Just show how much higher quality this comp is when I got two finalists at GD, but nothing at Ravage with (IMO) even better paint jobs.

Just got something to aim for next year now!

Two of my models also broke on the way home, due to a lack of blue tack lol

Hey guys, cool meeting you all! :) I had a great time as well.. and I kind of fell in love in Paris! :) And very inspiring to see the miniatures of a large proportion of the best fantasy/sci fi painters in the world on spot. A special kudos to the Mcveys and I was amazed at how good Mikes stuff from the GW period still looks. Top folks as well, got the chance to chat with him and Ali. :) In fact everyone I got to speak to were top blokes... :p I smelt no arrogance whatsoever. And a funny thing was to see that the \"top-painters\" in many cases were nervous to speak to each other as well.. all being fans to each other haha. I tried to be very straight forward and hope I didn\'t annoy anyone. My motto was better to have some awkward moments then not see all the great miniatures up-close. But I realised one thing as well and that is that when people look reserved it might not be because they don\'t want to speak to you but instead because they don\'t understand what you\'re saying!! lol lesson learned. I will definately try to read through my old textbooks in french until next time.

Didn\'t get anything though, entered the master painting category. I was disappointed but it kind of triggered me as well to really make an effort to next year. I didnt get to chat with the judges aftwerwards but I know I\'m too subtle and that is what I have to work with this following year. More saturated colours and more contrast and still smooth blends! :) Not the easiest equation to solve of course. :p The visit to Musée du Louvre gave me ideas to things I have to try out as well.

I\'ll probably post my stuff later today or tomorrow.

It was great to meet everyone and put a face to all those fantastic miniatures I\'ve seen here over the last few years. Too many people to mention but everyone I had the chance to chat to was so nice.

The stuff on show was just amazing and left me wanting to go home and get straight to the painting table and try some new things.

Yeah, that\'s the effect it had on me as well! I wish I could have looked more closely on your Tiriel mini, Ali. It looked amazing, but in the darkness of the cabinet it was difficult to see things clearly.

Yes, she definitely blended into the background amongst all the awesome pieces in the display case...I\'ll post pics here tonight.

@ Rirual - Wish I\'d got chance to chat with you and a few other people beyond an introduction. Was difficult with the little one - I had to keep him entertained to avoid a melt down:eek:

Me and Tim saw you and Mike at the airport on the monday, but you both had your hands full with the bairn so figured it would be rude to come over and say hello.
Shame, as i never got to speak to you at the actual event.

Matty, You should\'ve said hello.

We had ALL day to chat......we missed our 11am flight and had to wait in the airport for the 10pm flight.......What a day!!!
