@ Duende - Actually, I always played Ulthwe...so I usually have the feeling of fatalism when I think of the Eldar. Maybe I need therapy. ^_^

i had an old chaos dwarf (champ i think) given to me by a mate at the same time that i was given some d+d elves. i swapped the elves for a packet of gw high elf champs at my local store and bought some crappy paints. turns out that the first time i painted their armour, it was green (damn my colour blindness)

I even remember the second figure (well, figures) I painted after those cybermen. I bought the Eternal Champion boxed set after reading about them in an out of date Citadel Journal. Still got em, tho they\'ve been stripped twice and are awaiting their third incarnation. Also put me onto Moorcock\'s work too, which I\'ve recently picked up again.

The second figure I ever painted is a Ral Partha Dwarf in my gallery showing a recent repaint. Like I said, I undid all the original paintjobs.

Heroquest.. I can\'t remember which one it was, but I had the Elf, Wizard, Barbarian, Dwarf, a few of the chaos warriors and skeletons done. Then I had some GW elves, and it all blurs together!

The first thing I painted was a Ral Partha Man-at-arms figure. Very Boring, but he was my charcter in a \'77 RPG. I just looked through my box of ancient minis and couldn\'t find it! I did, however, find the second mini I ever painted -

It is from a company called valley of the Four Winds, in a set called the enchanted forest. It came with a witch, faires, an Ent, etc... I thought this was reeeaaaly cool when I was sixteen. I actually picked a scab and added my own blood to the red. Pretty sick, I know, but I was just a teen.

Hey! If there is a nuclear war and someone 10,000 years in the future digs up this mini they will be able to clone me! My DNA is protected by a thick coat of gloss varnish! lol

my first was a lotr moria goblin got some free with a mag(battle games in middle earth) with 4 pots of paint and a brush,that was about 2 years ago ...thus was the start of the obsession.

Well, I found him, but apparently, at some point, I primered him and started over again. Too bad. His original paint job was kind of funky, for a rookie job.

From the look of him, he needs to be stripped and started over properly. The primer looks gloopy.

Mine would be RT plastic marines and the original 40k ork box. I liked the power-armoured ork boss!

I keep meaning to start a \'PYP of old stuff\' thread.

I\'ve got quite a bit of stuff I painted as a teenager (15+ years ago...). Lots of Eldar and old Orks....
