Really looking for Feedback

I\'ve been poking around CMON for a while but I haven\'t officially posted any of my work because up until now I have had a really hard time getting a handle on photography/image editing.

Well, I just posted my first three submissions. The pics still aren\'t perfect, but they\'re a major stride from where I have been.

Having received advice and tips from many of you and having admired your work on the site, it would mean a great deal to me to know what you think. All three of these were painted some time ago and thus don\'t exactly show the current state of things as pertains to my growth in the hobby, but I should have some current stuff posted soon.

I\'d love to hear what you think of these guys in the mean time. Thanks for taking a peek! :)

Wood Elf Lord

Damsel

Pegasus Knight

In the order they were painted.

airhead

Coffin Dodger / Keymaster
7-6-7
All of them suffered from smallness. Set the pixel count a bit wider next time.

The wood elf looks pretty good - the white on the hood is the only thing I could pick on and that may be photo issues more than painting.

The damsel was nice till I looked at her eyes. (Ain\'t they a pain?).

I\'d love to see more of the pegasus rider.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually had set the pixel count at the max 600 across but they turned out HUGE and it served to accentuate my lack of skill with the camera as the focus seemed less sharp at that size. What size is fairly typical to post at? these were ultimately done at 300.

Wood elf - the hood and cloak are actually a very pale green rather than white. If I had to do it again I\'d darken it up to more of an olive drab.

Damsel - not my best face by far. The eyes weren\'t the only problem...the face on the model is very gaunt and narrow...not flattering. In fairness I didn\'t spend an inordinate amount of time on the face of this model as she is simply a tabletop army member.

And by pegasus rider do you mean more shots of the whole model or close-ups of the rider himself? Being a GW knight he\'s fairly typical. Nothing too fancy...most of the detail is on the pegasus.

I\'ll be posting some of my more recent work soon and I hope to get some better scores with it. One last question for you though...how do you guys get your rank in your signature like that?

Friar

Dorks for Orks
Just took a peek at your pieces and very nice, I did notice the damsel\'s eyes and they are a lil off but other then that they seemed pretty damn good special if your doing them for gaming and not necessarily to a high end diplay paint job. I\'d love to see what you could do if went nuts on a piece :D

The pic size does make it a tad hard to judge, I usually try for two to three times the actuall size, tho on something big like the pegasus getting it posted at life size or so would be fine. The damsel and pegasus pics looked good and sharp I did notice a lil blur on the wood elf. Just a couple things to make sure when your taking your pics use a tripod or sit the camera on the table your using, always use the timer as pushing the button will put a blur to the pic your lighting seems good so no worries there. Hope this helps a bit, lol I just wanna see big beautiful pics of your minis they deserve to get shown off :)

I love getting feedback from you Friar...you are a definite confidence boost.

I did use a tripod with these guys but I didn\'t use a timer on all of them...that probably explains the fuzz on the wood elf.

I should be posting a completed pic of my tara the silent soon which is a model I\'ve put a lot of time into so I look forward to having her critiqued.

Thanks again for the comments.

It\'s been kinda quiet out there...I was hoping to get more feedback than I have so I can continue to soak up the knowledge you guys tend to so freely give.

Only two so far. :(

Don\'t mean to be an attention whore...but ...comment....please. :~(
