Red can be a real challenge, but i would take a look at the new reds in the GW paint line, they make it easier.

Finished the red armor btw, working on leather and hair now.

Pics will follow tomorrow once the light is abit better.

Still raining and overcast today, so lighting sucks. But here is Monique as she stands now.

painting is slow atm, partly due to some personal issues and partially due to a big stack of marines being assembled on the side.

I'm going to suggest that you get hold of some Vallejo Model Colour Transparent Red and Yellow.
Used as a midpoint Glaze the red pulls all reds and shades together, then you can work the reds up even further.
The Yellow I use to Glaze red highlights giving them a Sparkle. (also helps brighten Golds up as well.)

This is just a suggestion: if you are going with dark hair, why not give it a bluish tint to balance the warm colours. I even could help pop up the reds.

monique is nearing completion, attached arms today.

Still need to do eyes, the sword and the black areas on the shield. I am looking in at doing some freehand, a rose wine.
