Reaper Bull Orc

The latest off the table. Done for a fun little project over at Reaper called the \"Beefcake Calendar\". One of the denizens over there is a HUGE orc fan and has put out a calendar the past few years with an orc, half-orc, troll, or ogre model for each month. I\'m shooting for Mr. November for the \'09 calendar. :)

The metallics are my first attempt using Automaton\'s metallic technique and I am pleased with the result.

Enjoy.

The metallics are impressive. I think the skin could use some more highlighting, but not much more just a bit to really emphasize the muscles. But imo a very good paintjob.

I paint my thumb.
I must say metallics are great, is that automaton\'s technique top-secret or is there a tut somewhere about it? Must I pay for learning it? How much do you want ???

Thanks everyone for the responses! I really appreciate it.

Freakinacage--yes, I\'d agree the sculpt is a bit odd; those oversized tusks don\'t do it for me. I wanted a more \"barbarian\" orc for the skull paint and this one fit the bill for what I was imagining.

Starchaser--thank you!

Monkeysplitters--thank you. I agree the skintones could use a bit more highlighting. I was timid with it because I didn\'t want to lose the dark feel of the overall skintone.

Greenone--glad you like the metallics! As Brother Tom referenced, that was the tutorial I used. I have found the new GW washes very helpful in this technique. The steel was washed with Badab black and Devlan Mud. The bronze was washed with Ogryn flesh (more of a reddish hue) and Devlan Mud for the deeper shadows.

Brother Tom--thanks for referencing that for me. Glad you like him.
