Reaper packaging sucks/ New Wave burn em at the stake!!

I recieved HALF of my \'Legend of the five rings\' minis from reaper/ New wave games today. Not only was i disapointed with the fact i have half of them missing but it seams they bent all the weapons in order to get them in the packaging. When i say bent i really mean bent!!. One example is the Samuria with polearm. his polearm looks like its straight out of a dali painting and the others look like they have rubber katana\'s not even good enough for LARP. I\'ve got to say that I\'m totally disapointed with the fact that they have saved little cash on making the plastic cover smaller and letting the actual miniatures suffer. Damn, folks might cuss GW but at least they get some things right Okay i feel a little better now. You can pull your fingers out yer ears now :flame:

I must admit I\'m a reaper virgin So i don\'t know if this is the norm, but as a constructive comment it would be better if they either made the plastic cover bigger or made the weapons with hands seperate so they would fit in the packaging. It really is disheartening when you try a different miniature range only to be confronted with Dali swords and half of what you ordered.

OMG! talking about NewWave?!?
I made an order about 2 year ago of minis from reaper and confrontation. They sent me half of the order, like you, and I e-mailed them for three times without reply. I am waiting yet for the rest of my order I didn´t expend too much money but anyway, it hurts.
For sure the worst site to buy minis!!

Oh man this isn\'t good I spent about $88.00 on them. I was thinking they sent them all in two boxes as the box i got was full of minis with no room for anymore and was expecting them sometime soon. But maybe i should try and get in contact with them rather than wait for the minis that might not arrive Okay I\'m mad again now :flame:

It took a year for me to get the second half of one of my orders from NewWave. As far as reaper goes I have never had a bad experience with their product. I\'m a big fan. As is my wife.

Oh man! The ones i haven\'t got are the ones i wanted most. So did you have to hound them with emails too in order to get the rest of your order?
I say reaper/new wave because it shows both names on the packaging and if Reaper allows their name on this kind of product then so be it. They should get on to new wave for selling non practical packaging and what looks like a \'we will send you your order when and if we want\' policy.

I bought them just over a month ago But only just got them today so its too late. Cmon made me want to try painting something other then GW minis so i got these....oh well.

Oh I\'ve just checked and I just noticed that even though i bought them from new wave they dont have their name anywhere on it. it shows AEG and REAPER. I\'m confused ??? Is reaper the actual maker of the Legend of the five rings stuff and new wave is just a retailer. confused now i dont even know who to blame

Reaper is a manufacturer and NewWave a retailer/distributor. Reaper is a respected name, whereas there seems to be a lot of people having problems with NW.

The same can be said for my one order from our very own CMON store.

Nearly all my other purchases have been from Ebay.

Anytime a Reaper mini comes with a long weapon (Polearm, spear, etc...) they bend the weapon. I even got a mini of a barbarian holding a sword up high and the weapon was bent nearly in a circle. It\'s a shame, because except for some size inconsistences they are an excellent company. As far as New Wave goes...

I would say you should have researched the retailer before ordering, but since CMON erases all negeative feedback about them you don\'t even have that option. Can anyone say \"Class Action Suit\" ?

Yeah i actually found the site through a link here on Cmon. What the problem with talking about reaper anyway. Theres a full 30 odd pages or whatever having a go at GW. Not that i dont dissagree with some of the stuff but...

Theres some dodgy looking blokes in black suits with Reaper logos on their cufflinks knocking on my door. I better get out, quick

I have often seen Reaper minis with the weapons bent horribly. I guess it\'s the softness of the metal. I prefer to buy Reaper minis from my LGS just so I can see what I\'m getting first.

As to New Wave, they are not affiliated with Reaper other than selling their stuff. New Wave is just a store. They have a warehouse full of minis and paints and stuff they sell over the internet. They do not make minis or anything else.
So, this is really a reaper bashing thread, not a New Wave bashing thread.

Its both. Reaper for the bending of weapons because the packaging is too small and new wave because i only got half of what i paid for I\'ve just sent them an email asking when i shall get the rest of them. Fingers crossed.
Why do i get the impression that any comments about Reaper is a no.no?

It\'s comments about new wave that are usually deleted. The CMON store is run by the same person/people as the newwave store, though service from CMON has always been top knotch whereas new wave is hit-and-miss. It boggles the mind.

Reaper has excellent customer service. If you honestly feel that one of the bent weapons is beyond repair (I\'ve gotten bent weapons on a model before it\'s usually easily bent back into place), they are really good about replacing defective or broken minis. Give them a looksee at http://www.reapermini.com.

Thanks Jubilee. I haven\'t bent them all back to their normal shape yet but i feel In some cases they didn\'t even need to be bent in order to fit the packaging. It looks like most can be put back into shape but some are kinked sideways which may be a problem.

If the person/people running the Cmon store with connections with NewWave store is reading this then I think you have a tiny problem that needs fixing. Listen to your customers. It seams other folk are talking of similar situations which tells me there is something wrong. I know you won\'t take offence to this, if you did then i don\'t think you would be the right man/woman for the job. Oh and send us the rest of my miniatures please, bent free if possible
