Reaper\'s Griffon

Now, what we have here is a piece done by my wife, actually, and not myself. There WILL be an account made for her, soon, so that her decidedly better work doesn\'t muck up my own feeble standings.

Anyway, she\'s eager to hear what anyone thinks about her work, just as I am. Any faults with the base are mine, as it was my job, but the griffon itself is all her.

This is also our first mini to be auctioned, so we\'re kind of excited to see if our works will sell. Wish us luck.

very good. I would have defined the black tips more into pronounced inverted V\'s but that is me. Paint the base black or dark green - it looks like bare metal along the edges (white paint?) The fur on the lion\'s body is very hard to define smoothly. Dark brown ink with a light beige/yellow drybrush maybe?

The war markings are a very nice touch. My daugher is also working on one of these and I will show this one to her.

I really like this model and how your wife has painted it. The feathers of the wings, and especially the black at the tips is done particularly well (I just wish the photo hadn\'t cut most of it off!). I don\'t know if I really like the freehand spots along it\'s side and on it\'s beak, it doesn\'t seem to flow with the model. Also the blacklining around his back claws seems a little heavy.

Overall very nice, got a good vote from me. :)

Very nice job, but I agree with Eric. The spots on the beak in particular look clumsy compared to the skill evidenced in the rest of the model.

If this is your first attempt to auction on ebay, don\'t be disheartened if it either doesn\'t sell or sells for far less than you think it\'s worth. If you have browse through ebay (\"painted reaper\" and \"painted d&d\" are good keywords) you\'ll see that sometimes the quality of the paintjob just isn\'t reflected in the final price.

Good luck with your auction!

Good Luck....

......Been and voted! :D Nice Griffon, there seems to be a proliferation of them around here lately! :D I like that you\'ve gone for the browns, and not too dark either,it has a very light feel to it.What brown/paint did you use around his chest area?To me it looks reddish like red squirrel fur, very good. And once again,Good Luck with the auction :D cheers
