I wouldn\'t use green stuff for a rose.
OK, he is definitely pinching, you were right.
I would not use green stuff for a rose, myself. I would use flourist wire for the the stem and poster paper for the petals and leaves.
Draw the petal shapes on the poster, some big and some small, then cut them out with an exacto knife. Then wet them ever so slightly by licking your finger and rubbing it on the cut out petal. This will give it the ability to bend, but not be so wet that it cannot hold shape. Then super glue the petals to the end of the wire, smaller petals on the inside and work towards the bigger ones on the outside. Let the glue dry. Then come back and wet the ends of the petals so that they can be folded down to look like the curl that rose petals have. Then let that dry and paint. With paper you cannot paint but one coat at a time, or the paper will lose it\'s shape, but it is still perfectly paintable.
I was thinking you might want to try to bend the hand to be a little more perpendicular, then perhaps put a severed head in it, hanging by the hair. But I really like your idea of the rose better.
