Considering I\'m now in with the Masters, there\'s only one category for me to enter.

Of course, I could enter it and finish dead last, but where\'s the fun in that?

Truthfully though, I took a longish break from painting over the past year, and haven\'t actually finished anything since August. At the rate I\'ve been painting, I don\'t think I\'d be able to finish a Reaper figure that I\'d be happy with in two months.

I do have a couple of Rackham figures that I\'m working on now, so I\'m trying to re-acquire enough painting skill that I won\'t embarrass myself in the classes I\'m teaching.

I\'ve only finished one since Halloween \'07. So you aren\'t that far behind in painting before the competition (and you only have to have 1 entry completed).

So is everyone ready? Been packin my bags and such this weekend. Worked on some sample bases for one of my classes. See y\'all there!:D

Hey Lunchbox, you can always stop by Megs house and hang with Jerems and I there! She lives a couple miles away from Reaper! Otherwise just look for me at the con... I\'ll be the guy with the \"I love Meg Maples\" shirt on!lol

So... when are we going to get some reports and photographs from the event?

It\'s already 7:20am in Denton... wakey wakey con goers! lol

photos are coming.....

I haven\'t even gotten out of Dodge yet !

My flight out of Dallas is later today, and so I won\'t get home until tonight. But I took nearly 400 photos during the course of the 4 days of the Con. I\'ll post a couple good ones from the bundle as soon as possible.

P.S. ReaperCon was a blast !

Well, I know that Angela Imrie(Saxon Angel) walked away with about five trophies and best in show. Marike Reimer recieved gold in the master\'s category and Jeremie Bonamont recived silver for his overnight entry for the masters. he sat near me Friday night about 8 O\'clock starting the base work and the entries were due at noon the next day  He\'s a crazy individual. lol

Reaper posted their pictures of the winning entries in the main categories. There was a mixup and the entries to the Masters weren\'t photographed at the time. We\'ve been asked to submit pictures so they\'ll have those up eventually too.

I guess Mat was too blinded by his encounter with the wonder that is Jeremie to remember to mention that I placed third in the Masters. ;) (And I don\'t blame him if he was, watching Jeremie churn out several fantastic potential entries over the course of a short con was mind-blowing indeed, but I\'m pretty excited about placing in that field of competition, so I am going to go ahead and toot my own horn a little. :->)

It was a great \'con and a pleasure to go to Reaper HQ again. Last time I went was in \'04 and the \'04 event was much smaller with no contest and less con time, classes etc. This time I was kept busy every minute of every day with barely time to eat or breathe.
I\'d definitely say Reapercon is on par with Gencon for the talent offering classes to up your minipainting/sculpting skills. Highlights for me were finally meeting the Queen Kathryn, Werner Klocke ( I signed up for every class he offered, two of the same even!), the lovely and talented Wren, Olliekickflip, Jester and sooo many more!
I also finally, FINALLY! got to go to a blending class with Marike after years of trying at Gencon. And the courses with Werner. And Jester, and , and , and...
*panting*
and i missed a bunch of stuff too like most of the auction and I never did manage to get a class with Derek Schubert.

Another great privilege was the opportunity for entrants of the regular painting competition to cast a vote for the top three in the Gods...errr... Masters\'. And when it came down to voting between Marike\'s and Jeremie\'s Dryad\'s it was a TOUGH decision. Though I\'m not telling who I finally decided on ;) , it took a good five or ten minutes of humming and hawing before I cast my vote.

Anyhow. A good con, great party and all around great time. The only downside is it\'s probably another four years until I can save up enough $$$ for my next Reapercon.lol

But on the upside, you\'ll only need to bring one entry for the competition :p
(welcome to Master Class)
