Einion & Snowball99 many thanks for some of those listings......My wallet is gonna hate you both however.

On the contrary, I find Youtube to save me money. I see a lot of stuff in stores and hear names that I\'m really interested to check out. Youtube is now my shopping filter. I\'ll make a list of who I\'m interested in and go to Youtube to check them out...............saved myself a lot of money that way and have made a few discoveries too.

Archie Roach!

I\'m pretty sure this is a Paul Kelly song. But Archie Roach is a beautiful singer! Just ignore that crappy Tele guitar playing!! Here\'s a link: http://tw.youtube.com/watch?v=lHY3vA1zKEw&feature=related

Forget Captain Cook!! http://tw.youtube.com/watch?v=lHY3vA1zKEw&feature=related

For your punk fix may I recommend the potty-mouths from Gallows :D Very intense punk rock -- just completely vulgar lol

And for something different, download \"Start Wearing Purple\" by Gogol Bordello. :D

This song reminded me that I should have recommended Nine Inch Nails. Hurt is their (or his) song and just one of many masterpieces.

Yeah, Hurt was a NIN song that Johnny remade, reworded a few bits to remove the cursing but gave the song a totally different feel then the original. Johnny also did a couple real good covers of Alice in Chains and Soundgarden.

Picked up on Johnny Clegg and Savuka way back in the 80\'s due to the Late John Peel.
Originally from Rochdale and then moving to South Africa, Clegg made himself famous for his musical opposition to Apartheid, well before Paul Simon made African music Popular.
There\'s a bright \"joy\" to Johnny Clegg and Savuka\'s music, like a portable festival.
Ok Finally found another :Stephen Caudel
New Age music from the Landscape label back in the late 80\'s.

I got a lot of Clegg music back then as well. It\'s very singable stuff and even with dark themes engages you. One of my alol time favorite artists.

Yeah, I\'ve been listening to him since 1988, found him through Jimmy Buffett\'s cover of Great Heart on Hot Water. Definitely one of my ultimate favorite artists. I\'d love to meet him someday, bet it\'d be a blast.

I\'ll chime in since I haven\'t seen many references to my favs:

Depeche Mode is, IMHO one of the best bands, ever. Those not familiar with them might stereotype them as \"some 80\'s band\" but actually they\'ve never stopped making albums, and keep getting better and better. Their new stuff is much better than the old. Dave Gahan\'s voice does special things to me. You can watch all of their videos from their site.

Ministry - industrial metal
Bloodhound Gand - too funny
Crystal Method - electronica
Chemical Brothers - also electronica
Goldfrapp - Allison\'s voice is just awesome
David Bowie - come on people! can\'t believe no one else mentioned him!
Blue Öyster Cult - good old fashioned rock and roll....about Cthulu, vampires, time travel, telepaths and other sci-fi themes.
Oingo Boino - perky Gothy
Praga Khan and Lords of Acid - kinda interchangable. Slutty electronica
Primus - because sometimes, you need some really good bass
Rammstein - angry German metal by a bunch of former office nerds. Whee!
System of a Down - angry metal opera. I don\'t really know how else to describe them.
Static X - bang your head
Siouxsie and the Banshees - I would call them a classic 90\'s band, but no one else would.
White Zombie/Rob Zombie - because zombies are  . Metal electronica

Did I mention Depeche Mode yet? :D \"Martyr\" \"Freelove\" \"Barrel of a Gun\" just to name a
few of my faves by them.

Have fun!
