the stones on orions(don\'t know how to spell :( ) base are freeking amazing. the knife hand is a bit \'odd\' though, its in a peculiar(sp?) position. but the rest is still amazing stuff meg! the dryad, seems to be flawless, and really amazing!!

Hey Nick,

The position of the hand may look a bit off but I\'m envisioning that he\'s thrusting the knife/sword/blade up into some sort of monsters throat.

I agreeon the sword positionlooking a little out of place without a mini to be on the receiving end.. Like the plant parts on orion\'s base..
The dryad is nicely done.. Are the bubbles mainly on the outside?? I\'m hazarding a guess that you used Masking tape as a cotainer?? if so two things can help.. first when using the tape after it is in place paint some liquid vaseline on th sticky inside to lessen bubbles attatching. To fi when there are bubles use a fine grit sandpaper 800-1000 grit and after sanding coat with gloss varnish and it clears up a treat...great underwater details.

The left arm/hand is fine. Nothing wrong with it. Works with the head positioning.

Dryad is brilliant too. don\'t worry about the bubbles they are fine.

Single miniature catagorie is a bitch. I think your highest expectations from that would be a 3rd place at the very most.

You\'ll make the judging table though no worries.

love the dryad, meg...
too bad werner did his usual crappy job on sculptin\' the face...
for a guy who sculpts great bodies, his faces are often a let down...

orion doesn\'t do it for me at all...
the unconverted sculpt is much cooler, as far as tellin\' a story about the wood elves\' character...
i find it hard to believe that a blueskinned orion would ever make it into the top three...
bringin\' the fluff to life is a part of the demons...
had you painted him in the green tone of the dryad, he probably would have had a better chance...

Dont worrie about not winning with him meg hes friken awsome and we all think so :)

yeah the airbubbles kinda screw with the awsome stuff underwater but you\'ll get it next time, im sure the first time ill do it ill screw it up to!!! lmao
ill go vote now

Lovely painting! It\'s always good to see your stuff, as it\'s so very unique - and that\'s a good thing!!!

The Dryad is the better piece for me - I even think the bubbles don\'t affect the piece at all - if anything it gives the piece a bit more animation (in a things bubbling under the surface kind of way!).

The Orion piece I\'m not so sure about - purely as a composition (the paint work is great) - the pebbled base is putting me off slightly.

However, this is all purely subjective - they\'re great :D

Both minis look great. I really like the base water base you made. The sword was a nice touch. Great work!
