Recessed Bases

I have a box of miniatures from the late 70s and early 80s (Ral Partha, Citadel etc) that already have the metal stands. I don't like gaming with these as they fall over. I'd prefer to put these on bases for play.

Does anybody know if there are bases out there that are slightly recessed whereby you can "hide" the stand? I'm not fond of the bases with the lip around the outside. I'm talking straight-up 25mm bases that are recessed or slightly concave in the center.

Thanks

If you can do it, I'd suggest getting a jeweler's saw and cut off the old bases, then pin your minis to the new bases. It's a little extra work, but well worth it in my opinon.

I haven't used them but I notice 2 things. They are square all around instead of having a beveled edge, which you may or may not like, and they're only 20mm, which is smaller than the standard 25mm square.

There is an eBay seller in England that has the screen name Geronimo_Jones that sells deep recessed bases that have a similar profile as warmachine bases in 30mm, 40mm, and 50mm sizes. I use them and highly recommend them.

Your choices of bases are severely limited.
The only recessed bases are either rolled-shoulder (warmachine) or mech scale hexes (35-40mm).
It's a nice market inside an already niche market.
