Yeah, I wanna second that motion. I\'ve got things planned, and the world ending isn\'t going to make it onto my calendar for at least a season.

I\'ll seconded that! At the rate that I level, I think that the world is pretty safe for a couple of years.

Hve you ever read \"The Sun\"?
It makes \"The National Enquirer\" look like a serious and quality newspaper.

Scientists have been doing dodgy possible universe destroying science for years - Allegedly during the second world war the Germans were testing theory behind the cummins engine (a true perpetual motion self powering engine) deep in the Austrian mountains, one of the side effects of this technology is that it creates micro wormholes (nobody has officially managed to manufacture a stable engine yet - they tend to explode fantastically) the Germans in there infinite wisdom decided to pump more power into this device to see if they could stabalize and study the wormholes and as you can imagine in a pre micro chip age things went slightly wrong, a wormhole was created and started to grow quickly absorbing a great deal of the Lab and surrounding tons of Austrian mountain only a quick thinking soldier managed to destroy the array that was generating the wormhole and shut it down before the tear became self purpetuating and swallowed the entire planet! (this was also the technolgy used by the American government in the Philidelphia Incident (Yes the film was based on a true story) to get to my point is that Scientists are always bringing us to the brink of destruction, they never really know if its gonna hum along nicely or go BANG catastrophically thats why its called science. The Large Hadron Collider is possibly the most exciting to happen in a long long time the possibilites that will eventually come from the discoveries could well change the face of the planet, even if that means scrubbing the life from it or eventually in the long distant future uplifting us into different states of existance (Antimatter is going to be a horrible horrible side of there studies though)

Sorry, you lost me at \"true perpetual-motion machine\". But it\'s a good Weird War 2 gaming scenario, with shades of Half Life thrown in :)

We\'d better check back in a few weeks when they start the actual experiments.
