Sorry DH...it was definitely Image size...

Pics need to be resized to fit within the 200 K mark.

Alot of yours I am able to resize and make them fit...but that last one was just a bit too big. Sorry! Usually I put an explanation on why it was rejected...did that not come thru?

Use photoshop or similar then use save to web, or save as jpg. There should be a slider which allows you to compress the file.

Just be a sod like me and link your image through photobucket instead of hosting it on CMON. That way you get through bigger pics - I say screw those on dial up!!!

 So in that case should we just delete the broken and reported links for your pictures then?:innocent::D

It\'s not often we have to delete an image when approving them. I\'ve only had to doit perhaps a half a dozen times mostly due to repetative duplications.
But I\'ve had to refuse a couple which were so badly out of focus, the painter couldn\'t get rate a second glance.

Don\'t I get told if my images are reported?
Besides it was Klute who told me that and I have never gone close to the 500k size he recommended! :innocent:

It really is no problem getting your pics under 200k. I usually managed to keep them under 100k when that was the limit and 200k really is more than enough for most cases.

Up until I read your comment here I would have said yes. ??? Curious ???
However when moderating the images I often see the reason for requiring approving as being Reported/Broken and I for one haven\'t been contacting the the owner of the picture.

Please, PLEASE do not post CMON images on Photobucket, I like them but they do go down sometimes. And there is no excuse for 500k images, most mini pics can squeak in under 150k at the most. Some people do still occasionally access the site via dial-up, or slower broadband services. Sad, but not uncommon.

I agree completely.

I am getting very fed up of seeing broken images from the same damn people all the time images are coming in from photobucket/imageshack and elsewhere and it is realy annoying even on a 4 meg cable connection.

There is a limit to the amount of coffee I can drink in the day and after browsing CMON for an hour I have seen the same broken images at least 3 or 4 times. Some of these have been coming up for months now

It is not just a case of using photobucket and nobody is really saying don\'t use it or similar. but at the moment I am getting 7 or 8 broken images from the same people every 10 or 15 minutes either from photobucket, imageshack or thier own websites ad the file sizes must be huge for them to take so long to appear even on a broadband connection of 4 meg.

It\'s not just a matter of file size with externally hosted photos, it\'s also about what bandwidth the site they\'re hosted on has. If you post photos on your own site and it has a 500k connection it won\'t matter what bandwidth the viewer has as your 500k connection is the upper limit.

For us peasants without Photoshop pics can be resized easily by opening it in Paint, clicking on Image then Stretch/Skew and lowering the horizontal and vertical values.
