Repeat views on voting page

Hey, can someone answer this for me....

I thought that paid up members (Me baby!) got a special feature in which they do not get the same fig pop up more than once on the voting screen while browsing. I keep getting repeats. This is of course not the end of the world except that I do keep getting my latest submission and every time I do I am filled with a mix of emotions. Sadness that my best work to date (IMHO) only rates a 5.4, Self Loathing after I succumb to my grief and give my model another perfect and undeserved 10, then Rage as I realize that even after giving my model about 3 scores of 10 the poor dwarf still has only a 5.4 out of ten.

Am I incorrect about the priveledge of membership meaning I should not have to view the same fig more than once or not...

And DAMMIT again my computer had locked up in some wierd ass French Canadian mode. I swear to god I do not understand how this happens but now I can not use contractions as my apostrophe has been replaced with this little bugger ....è and my quote marks are doing this....È. I can not even ask anyone to help me fix this as the computer has stolen my question marks and given me this... É

I can not reboot either as my login password features one of the stolen characters and I choose not to risk losing my computer and having to try to explain to my boss that my computer got all ethnical up in my grill. DAMMIT!

I don\'t think I ever had this happen to me. I\'m assuming you\'re repeat-viewing pix you\'ve already voted on? I think there\'s some feature of the page which means that if you go through pix fast and it doesn\'t have time to refresh, it throws you images it thinks you haven\'t voted on yet.

Dunno about the accents thing.

not sure about the voting but if you go to control panel you should be able to change your computers language.

The special character (which is what, I assume you\'re seenig) is usually associated with spaces and Macs. Most PC-centric servers (notice I didn\'t say Windows...) replace Mac\'s spaces with special characters/code that are them errantly replicated verbatim. The question mark is sometimes part of the code used to present those special characters.

Getting out of the habit of using special characters/punctuation and spaces as part of your passwords (anywhere) is probably a good starting place.

No solutions here, just suggestions for a better tomorrow! :D

Yeah the repeat views thing is def. happening. I thought it may have been just another multi pic entry but then I started seeing mine, and I saw a pic I left a comment on (DaN\'s M1A1 conversion) so I for sure have had enough time on each page that it shouldn\'t just be skipping through them.

And the language thingy- It appears to be net based problem as I was able to type up a short doucument in word no problem, but over on another site this pm I still had the same problem.

As for special characters in my password.... I didn\'t get to pick mine. My boss thinks he has a sense of humor and my password involves a question that would get you slapped in all but the seediest social circles. I am not allowed to change it.

Ah well, thanks for the tips on changing language but everything looks fine in the control panel area.

My primary concern is only that maybe I am going through the same loop, and not getting to experience some of the mini\'s posted. I would hate to feel that everything I do is just getting put through the same loop.

But seriously do the images come in an order? Random? Dated recent to oldest? Anybody know?

First there is no such special feature I am aware of, no member should have to vote on the same mini twice. :)

It could perhaps be that the miniatures in question have been \"updated\" I sometimes approve the same pic 4-5 times because people change their description or something else. I doubt you are going through a loop if not your voting thingie has been stuck on one category which sometimes happens.

Do you see the vote you have placed on the miniatures? If you have commented but not voted you will see the miniature again I think.

If you are afraid you\'d miss out on new cool minis use the \"browse gallery function\" and filter out below whatever voting score.

Okay, fair enough, problem solved.

I wish that there was a filter to keep out the multi pics of the same fig, it get\'s frustrating at times.

Thanks for the advice. I actually don\'t mind going through the lower rated figs as I find I benefit more from the comments on figs 4.0-6.0 then the higher level ones.

So I will continue on. Good work to all on the site, it\'s a continuing place of inspiration and a fun place to get involved in some pointless debates. One of the most smartest places I frequent on the net.

I\'ve got to say that unless people have submitted 10 identical pictures of their minis I\'m getting repeats as well. I\'ve even had ones I\'ve voted on before come up. For some reason it seems to be worse when I\'m experiencing lag. I tend to rate minis while playing MMOs, there\'s just too much walking in every MMO out there and I get bored, so I have a two monitor set up, right now this is open on one and Warhammer online in the other.

Two things cause me to see minis I\'ve already voted on. One is if I get logged out of the site and don\'t realize and log back in. The other is if my browse options get stuck, which happens whenever I do a specific browse or upload a new picture. Look under the voting section and see if your options are selected to a particular manufacturer or genre or whatever.

I\'m pretty sure the site is coded to not show anyone something they\'ve already voted on, weighted to minis that haven\'t yet received 50 votes. Votes are separate from comments, so you will have to vote on any mini you comment on to remove it from your personal rotation. I think you do have to vote on your own to remove them, also.

But if it\'s not any of that and it keeps on happening I\'d pop a message into the bugs section to let the admins know.

So it only happens when you type into a browser window? Which browser are you using?

I\'m using windows explorer..... but...

I found the problem! Hitting Ctrl-Shift toggles me through a few language settings. I have been doing this by accident on this crappy laptop setup for a while now but I sort of accidently found the cause last night!

Thanks for the help!
