Request for assistance

Hi all,

I just recently sold a Rackham Titan Dragon of Aarklash to a mate of mine. Unfortunately, it was damaged in transit. In order to claim damages from AusPost, I have to provide proof of valuation of the beast.

Thing is, the value of the sculpt is determined by the community. There\'s no point in providing Rackham\'s old sale price, since that\'s woefully out-of-date.

Is there anyone who can help me out by:

1. Asserting the value of the sculpt; and
2. Is willing to testify to being a member of the international gaming community in good standing? Say, a UKCORD member, or well-known painter, or something.

Without the valuation, AusPost will default to their handling protocol for \'sculpture\', which, even they admit, is a bit broad for pin-point valuations like this.

I have to speak to the valuation officer again this Fri, to sort this valuation out, so if someone would pitch in and be willing to help me out in this manner before then, that would be fantastic.

I\'d use the old price, and point out that it\'s an Out Of Print/Press/whatever model that is now considered to be significantly rarer than originally intended, and is thus, a collector\'s item.
Further information such as the type you request can only help your case.

Assuming it\'s New In Blister increases the immediate purchase price by a Minimum of 50% (fantization still have it listed at $279 (USD) so starting price for an Auction would be around $418-420) Factor in rarity value and that it is not replaceable and you could easily make case for double that.
If it were painted however that could work against you, not to question your skills, but the value of a rare item most often lies in the fact that is remains pristine.

2. Is willing to testify to being a member of the international gaming community in good standing? Say, a UKCORD member, or well-known painter, or something.
One slight problem is that, in reality what the value is could be determined by how much:
A) I\'m willing to pay
B) How much I can afford

Now I can be realistic and say If I could get hold of this for £50 I\'d rip your hand off, but I know that some people will pay over the odds to own a copy of this.
To be fair what they also need to take into consideration would be the increasing \'rarity factor\', taking as a comparison the GW \"Chicken Dragon\" 20 years out of production and with an immediate expectation of around £500.

So in answer to your request I\'d be willing to put pen to paper.
