Hello all,

Been a while since I posted anything here, it feels good to be back (even if most won\'t remember me). :D

I just posted two minis and would really appreciate some feedback on them.

The first is a GW Elf Mage on Warhawk, here (Edit: New pictures posted)

And the second is Stern Kestrelmann by Reaper, here

It\'s been a while since I posted anything, so I\'m looking forward to your comments :flip::bouncy:

The pics of your Warhawk a bit too small to really judge accurately.

The base is very cool, I really like those removable integrated bases. Very clever.

Stern is a much better quality pic. I think the face and metallics are well done. There is something about the whiteness of the cape and tabard that takes my eye off the rest though. Maybe it is just too much white in the same area. It makes it hard to \'see\' the legs and leg armor.

I am not sure of what you could have done differently, but maybe if the tabard was a reverse design of the cape. A blue color with a white stripe?

Still, very solid stuff and I hope you post more.

Coffin Dodger / Keymaster
the top foto on the eagle rider is washed out - possibly the white background causing the camera to overexpose. I would love to see a better/bigger pic maybe at a slightly higher angle. The base is very cool and I like how you compensated for the flight base by building up the beach. Water effects a very good, but not very \'ocean\' - more like \'lake\' (solid 7 - better photo could be an 8)

Vike nailed my comments on the stern guy. Maybe dirty/war wearly that cloak up a bit to match his personallity? (8 easy)

Thanks for the comments. The main reason I post here is to get your feedback. Yes, it\'s true, I\'m a mini painting information parasite.

Yes, I guess the photos were overexposed. Does that mean I should set the EV lower or higher? My manual is a little mysterious on that point. In fact, the whites on the Stern are actually VMC Ivory. I agree that the contrast between the dark armour and the white cloth is too strong, I\'ll pull out the Vallejo Smoke and drag him though the mud a few times.

I made another post of the Warhawk mage with better pics. He is hard to photograph because of his size. Anyway, a closer shot of the mage from above, a shot of the wings, and the old shot of the whole mess, err, I mean piece. I hope the pics are clear enough for you all to see the mage and his pet. That shot of the bird\'s belly has exposed the greenstuff that I used to anchor the stand for the base, you can see green through the transparent stand! :(

Anyway, he can be found here: 94609

Thanks again. Hey, by the way, where has Mike been?

The views of the Warhawk are much better. You can actually see the detail that you put into the hawk and mage. Well done.

I wish there was a better way to make things fry than those damable clear plastic posts. :flame:

Ah which Mike are you refering to?

Bases and Mike

Yeah, those plastic bases are kinda annoying. Has anyone tried some wire instead? Seems like it would have to be so thick that it would end up looking worse.

The Mike I\'m referring to is aka Dragonsreach, Coffin Dodger, the Man with the Hammer, etc, etc. :D

You out there DR?

I have seen wire used on mini\'s in the past and it looks about the same to me.

Ah that Mike! He\'s been around, just not as much as usual.

Been and voted (gave an 8).

I actually think that those plastic transparant sticks are the best you can do, besides actually flying of course, but where would you store the kerosine...
