Resin bases....

Helloooooo!
I\'ve been knocking up scenic bases and have cast up my first batch - \'Techno\', for that futuristic feel. I\'m testing the water here really, so feel free to leave suggestions etc.

I\'ve got a bunch of stuff moulding up at the moment, including 25mm square and round \'Rocky\' bases, some more 25 and 40mm round \'Techno\' bases, some 25mm round battleground bases and finally 25mm square slate \'Cairn\' style bases. I\'ll post more pics as and when, but if you\'re interested PM me with your email, and I\'ll keep you posted.
Prices will be in the region of £3 for 5x 25mm or 2x 40mm, and £4 for 2x 50mm.
If you have any suggestions for stuff you\'d like to base your minis with, or indeed would like copies of a fave base making, again PM me.
Cheers!
Scott:)

So, where and when can we buy them? I\'m in need of some good SF bases right now... :flip:

Hi Vidja
PM your email address to me and I\'ll be in touch with photos of all the stuff I\'ll have once it is done (1-2 days). Cheers!

Pat on the back....

Just to emphasise how good those bases really are...

This is a photo I just took of some resin bases I already own.

FWBases

You\'ll note the \'iffy\' quality, the huge amount that needs to be cut away, and the dodgy finish along the edges. Well, these are Forgeworld bases. Yours look infinitely superior in every way...

I left a message on the other thread but Ill say again those look great.
Steve,,,,,,those are forgeworld...If I paid for those I would be very upset and Id also be putting them in the bin.

Scott,,,,,are you getting a good level underside from the casting or do you need to touch them up?

The bottoms are coming out better if I don\'t scrape \'em, but still need a quick skid on some glasspaper. After seeing that Forgeworld pish (that I nearly coughed up for!), I think they\'ll be fine shipped straight from the mould.

Can\'t believe they get away with sending those out to people. These things are just reinforcing my growing concern (contempt?) for all things GW.....lol

Those look great!

I wonder, have you thought about making similar industrial bases in square shape, for use with Hybrid?

Forgeworld quality is all over the place....

In their defence, a couple of the figures I bought have been sublime....

But the Baneblade was a nightmare. All the track links were individual and had between 50% to 150% gating that needed to be cut away. A weeks work with a Dremel:|~.

A couple of terrain pieces look like they have been sculpted by the Blue Peter team....definitely the work of the work-experience guy. And those bases stink. I don\'t think it is going to be possible to remove that gating pipe without doing some GS surgery afterwards.

The whole point about buying pre-made bases, is that you don\'t want to spend ages messing about yourself. In the time it will take me to make them usable, I could have constructed unique ones of my own...

Scott ...make sure to shop around for the casting resin. If you end up doing a lot of these (which I think you will) the savings will add up quick.

Steve....didnt mean to knock forgeworld, its just those bases look like them plastic soldiers I get from the poundshops for the little\'n.......CRAP.
BTW mr carnage had his skin painted yesterday.:D
