Resin treatment...

Hi folks , picked up a resin figure which appears to have some small bits of white residue in the fur which won't scrub out ....I'm assuming it's to do with the casting process ,I have soaked the figure in water and washing up liquid for a day but still no joy....How do I get rid of this and what products do I use....I'm also in England so products available here ideally...

I'd check the white areas with the point of a pin.
Sometimes the silicon mould splits tiny bits off in high textured areas, so if these white bits are soft and flexible you should be able to pick them out and replace with tiny bits of green stuff/milliput.

I think your right it's bits of silicon...There are so many I think I will pick out the worst and leave the smaller bits and hope they don't notice unless someone has a better idea...

I'm now soaking in Isopropanol alcohol to see if this helps....it's a pain in the arse as this is a £40 model from Mierce miniatures..

If it's any consolation most of the figures from Mierce have this issue.
BUT think of it this way, if you've got the silicon bits in your cast it means that you've got a better cast with no unsightly blocks of resin to tidy up.
