RGM: Kickassia review

The folks at ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com released their two year anniversary special a couple weeks ago. Just for fun, I reviewed it.

It's a bit different than reviews I've done in the past, so there was a bit of learning involved.

Part One (the rest will be coming later):

Well...I have no interest in the guy with glasses, so it's hard to get excited about this review.

Although, I do appreciate your enthusiasm, and I still love the format. Just my humble opinion, but you *may* want to shoot for subject matters that are a bit more accessible. I don't mean that to sound as harsh as it does...

It doesn't sound harsh at all; not to me, anyway.

Honestly, I'd love to hear suggestions or requests from people of what they might like to see. Bear in mind, it should be related to either painting miniatures or movies/TV/etc as those are the only things I really know anything about. My RPG gears are pretty rusty and I'm so picky about video games that I don't have a wide area of interest in them, so not sure I could do justice to any kind of review of them.

So fire away with your suggestions/requests, folks!

Hi Hinton, for reviews, how about more minis? Don't have to be new. You can always blast through a few in a short space of time. Is an insert of a still of a mini easier to do than close up filming?

Start with recent purchases - first impressions, packaging, service if direct mail-order, cost.

Stuff that's out on the table - did this mini look as though it would go together beautifully but turn out to be a nightmare? Does the paint just sit like a dream on that particular sculpt? Mainly seeing how first impressions have borne out.

Completed projects - still feel worth purchasing? Buy from brand again? Show off your work.

End of year review of all purchased, unpainted minis/games. Regrets, expectations, Ebay?

A review of mini websites would be of interest. CMON, WAMP, COC, TMP, Frothers, etc. Whichever the ones are that you know. Things to look out for & things to avoid on each one. Overall vibe, gamers or painters, historical or sci-fi, etc.

A podcast head to head between Bad Dice Podcast & Podhammer? An outsiders view to compare the UK & Oz approach.

Magazine review - compare last 2 issues of White Dwarf, GameForces, Wargames Illustrated, Irregular, etc.

I'd happily sit & watch you talk about a 20 year old issue of White Dwarf, or the first mini you ever bought :) But not this ThatGuyWithTheGlasses thing it turns out :( I'll try the next one regardless :good:

Cheers, B.

@BPI: Reviewing minis is MUCH easier than reviewing videos. I certainly have a stock of minis, so no worries there; just wasn't sure if people wanted to hear about minis that have been around for a few years or not.

The mini websites is an idea that I had, but I only know of a few; however, I could certainly talk about the ones that I do know.

Some very good ideas there and I'll be working the next video today and tomorrow.
