It has arrived!

For the Greater Good my tau bretheren.

Today i started sorting through the parts for the FW tau manta and began the process of prep.

Washing large models requires a LARGE basin!

I had to heat a few parts in buckets of boiling water and let the heat soak into them, then lay them flat to remove some warping. all come out well in the end.

That Manta is going to take some work....and an awful lot of paint. Unfortunately GW paints don't come by the gallon. (Hate to think of the price if they did). It will give you plenty of room for some nice detail, and dare I say it, maybe some freehand work? A disruptive camo pattern would look great too.

Edit: Because I can't spell!

You are not a million miles away with the paint idea. The client is looking at a splinter camo idea made into the theme of his current colour scheme.

Not finalised yet though :)

it's not big... it's huuuuuuuuge!! Is that thing supposed to be played in a regular warhammer table??? 'Cos if it's yes it should take almost a quarter of it... oO

The model, empty, cost 1879 pts to play it and it does not include weapons cost...

Hi folks,

Bigger update on the manta progress.

Main bits are still prep work rather than gluin bits together, main work has been on the infantry boarding ramp assembly which needed a repair due to lots of bubbles and the foot ramp needed a pin replaced with brass:

Then the fiddliest part of the entire build, the assembly of the resin burst cannons, these were all a bit bendy and a LOT of them had mould slip issues on the barrels which are incredibly delicate, so i toke my time and worked slowly and finally got them all assembled.
