I really liked the Phule\'s Company books, myself. The first one, in particular. It would make a great movie, with a perfect set-up for a training montage.

I thoroughly enjoyed both the Thieves\' World and Myth books... TW was actually a great concept for a shared universe and the Asprin-penned stories were good IIRC. Some of the series were even funny, despite the generally grim/weird setting. And I\'m pretty sure Pratchett\'s city of \"Ankh-Morpork\" owes a LOT to Sanctuary.

Kinda odd that you mention that - I read a post from one of the individuals who found him and they said he was holding a Pratchett novel when they found him.

I met Bob a few months ago. He was one of the locals drinking in my bar of choice when I visit New Orleans (Fahy\'s Irish Pub). I was drinking and talking with him two nights before finding out who he was (until then, he was just Bob).

I know that the next time I\'m in New Orleans, my first stop will be Fahy\'s to drink a Tully\'s in his memory (he was always drinking Tullamore Dew Irish Whiskey those nights).

Lucky man you are. I used to run gaming at Dallas Cons and had the pleasure of drinking with Bob more than once - and of occasionally having him pick up the tab, as he could write it off on his taxes.lol

Wow. Phule\'s Company was the first sci-fi book I read, and I wore out my first copy. I\'m gonna miss his work.
