RIP Torn blue sky.

I have the sad duty of reporting the passing of Torn blue sky, Mich to his friends. Taken from this world on the 9th of January 2025. He passed away following a short illness.
Although Mich hadn't posted anything here for a number of years I think it's important to note the passing of a great guy, a fantastic hobbyist and a more importantly a good friend. You will be sorely mussed by all who knew you. Rest in peace Mich.

My friend you will be missed. I started my painting journey on cmon many a year ago and you egged me on to always do a little bit better.

Between the banter from Cassar, Dragons reach, Mr Lindgren and Liz and Roger and to many others to name.

Today I’m truly at a loss for one of the worlds.

You big jock b##tard. Love you.

I signed on to see if anyone would remember him. Mich and I remained friends after CMON through social media. We sent each other funny memes and food videos and talked about painting metal miniatures. Mich told me that he was sick, so I would send him funny clips to cheer him up. He always encouraged me to get back into painting. I did. He was the first to comment on the post of my finished paint jobs on social media and was always positive. As I write this, I'm looking at some finished miniatures I was planning on taking photos of to post and show him. I told my wife on Saturday (11 January 2025) that I felt like something was wrong because I hadn't heard from him in weeks despite sending Christmas and New Year's greetings. That wasn't like him. Mich and I have been friends for over 21 years and it's all been online. Some say that's not a real friend. Whatever. It hurts all the same. I've lost a good friend. Godspeed, sir. You will be missed.

Indeed. He was a great guy to chat with. I had reconnected with him a while back on Instagram.

It was a very special time in the forums back then and I still am in contact with many that were there. RiP Mich.

A true friend, and great hobbiest. He will be greatly missed. He always pushed me and others to paint better, and we've had many great conversations about both the hobby and otherwise. Although chances were slim had always hoped we'd have the chance for an in person meet up, and hike in th mountains. You will be greatly missed, and i shall forever cherish the memories.
