Robin Hood. New series. Tonight. BBC1. 19:00.

Discuss

I personally am looking forward to it, but after seeing the trailers it looks more like Prince of Thieves (boooo!!!) than Robin of Sherwood (Yay!!!).

Adventures of Robin Hood Lyrics

Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
Riding through the glen,
Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
With his band of men,
Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
Robin Hood! Robin Hood! Robin Hood!

He called the greatest archers
To a tavern on the green,
They vowed to help the people of the king,
They handled all the trouble
On the English country scene,
And still found plenty of time to sing.

Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
Riding through the glen,
Robin Hood, Robin Hood,
With his band of men,
Feared by the bad, loved by the good,
Robin Hood! Robin Hood! Robin Hood!

When I used to watch Robin of Sherwood, I always thought Clannad were singing -

Robin...the Boogey man!

Not Robin - the hooded man!

I\'m going to watch it, but the thing that is dodgy about all these shows is how clean all the characters are, with artfully dishevelled hair and stuff... IRL back then they would have been greasy, filthy smelly and downright unhealthy :D

:possessed: adding rotten teeth and breath that would knock an elephant to it\'s knees

Wiccan,

When I saw Monty Python\'s \"Dennis Moor\" skit I didn\'t realize the song was actually parodying something else.

I liked those lyrics better:
Dennis Moor, Dennis Moor, ridding dum de dum.
Dennis Moor, Dennis Moor, dum de dum de dum.
He robs from the poor, and gives to the rich!
Stupid bitch.

Well, that was a typical BBC, low budget affair.
Not a patch on the old one, but I will still carry on watching it, for me it was OK, but didn\'t stir the blood:D

Yeah... I haven\'t seen the old one, but this was alright. They had alarmingly white teeth for 12th-century hobos who didn\'t have toothbrushes ??? It was all done slightly tongue-in-cheek, which was good. Robin obviously thinks he\'s very sexy, and I found him really annoying. Overall I think it was okay, I\'ll watch the next one too :D

I take it yours is going well then :D

I\'ve done the freehand on mine... just need to tidy it up a bit and add even more microfeckinscopic detail and I\'m done ....

Anyway... agreed, low budgetish but at least it was BBC low budget... had it been ITV, I wouldn\'t have touched it with yours :D

Artist: Robin Hood

Song: Oo-De-Lally Lyrics

Robin Hood and Little John
Walkin\' through the forest
Laughin\' back and forth
At what the other\'ne has to say
Reminiscin\', This-\'n\'-thattin\'
Havin\' such a good time
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day
Never ever thinkin\' there was danger in the water
They were drinkin\', they just guzzled it down
Never dreamin\' that a schemin\' sherrif and his posse
Was a-watchin\' them an\' gatherin\' around
Robin Hood and Little John
Runnin\' through the forest
Jumpin\' fences, dodgin\' trees
An\' tryin\' to get away
Contemplatin\' nothin\'
But escape an\' fin\'lly makin\' it
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day
Oo-de-lally, Oo-de-lally
Golly, what a day

Pah... this one is the Best...:D...

Robin Hood without Clannad doing the music is like a broken pencil. I mean it sounded like the music to Superman! And since when were peasants allowed to yell insults and spit on thier lord?!?! Not to mention Marion was holding the arrow wrong...

I think they were trying to make a film but only had the funding to do a series. Thankfully Richard Curtis said he was hoping to do another series of Robin of Sherwood. Will watch it again but it seemed to have been made for someone who knows nothing about Robin Hood.

Ha ha, Beelzebrush, I dont think you need to worry on the freehand score, mine is very simple and not very good, but its done, unless I can think of something else to do:(

I think Erol Flynn was the best Robin Hood:D

I thought the music sounded a bit like LOTR rohan bit

I liked the bit where Little john ran out of dip for his Doritos and went ape.
Robin was to busy lookng in the mirror so marrion had to get medeival on his ass!
