Even during my holiday trip I can\'t get my thoughts off painting and converting :D I saw during my hiking trip some rocks with interesting coloration so I adviced my buddy Erik to take some pics with his digicam (Thanks Erik!!!)
Hope the pics will serve you as a source of inspiration (especially those NMM and \"realistic\" painters out there!) as they did for me

ohhhh lovely rocks!

where were thay taken? (I\'m a geolgist, see)

They\'re all igneous by the looks of them, maybe a couple of metamorphic ones too.

Great pics, very useful, and clear to see not all rocks are grey! - excellent pinks in the granites

nice one - well done and cheers for sharing

Wow none of the rock I painted look anything like that. Maybe I should get out more. Thank for the pics I\'ll see if I can make my rocks more \"Natural\"

The pics were taken during my hiking trip on Corsica. There are several very cool rock formation everywhere on the island

and it turns out it\'s mainly granites and found a horrifically detailed paper on the geology on the net; great names for the granites - monzogranites (time to shutup now......)

Ahhhh the degree is all coming back to me now.......16 years ago............

I am envious - Corsica is one of the most beautiful places in Europe - hope you missed the forest fires!;) - did the red rocks come from the north coast?
