Just starting to play 40 K, could anyone help me on this: when you are fireing a bolter do you declare that you will rapidfire and then messure distance - and then just to bad all shots misses if more than 12\" or do you just declare you\'ll shoot, messure distance and the rapidfire if you are within 12\" or some third option?

Declare shooting unit; declare target unit.
Measure distance. Whatever is in 12\", can rapid fire, the rest can \"only\" single fire.
