Rotten Belles Fleshtone

Hey all!

Long time lurker, first time poster! I recently transitioned from Warhammer (RIP) to Malifaux, and am working on a resser crew. I am working on a fleshtone for rotten belles that I can't quite get. I want a very pale tone with a blue-ish tinge to the skin, but I have been unable to get the effect I want. Have any of you done rotten belles or have a good method to paint female zombie flesh? Any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all.

Well, how complicated do you want to make this? You might want to check out some of the Reaper paints (sold through their site http://www.reapermini.com/Paints/corecolors and in the CMON store). For skin like this, I like their Vampiric skin triad (Vampiric Shadow, Vampriric Skin, and Vampiric Highlight). It's a very pale skin tone. I also like their Dusky Skin triad, though it's probably darker than you want.

I did this piece last year using Dusky Skin, Dusky Skin Highlight (as my midtone), and Vampiric Skin (as the highlight).

You can also mix these with regular skin tones to get something in between. My most recent attempt at an 'off' skin tone and my favorite mix yet is a mix like that. I begin with Reaper's Rosy Shadow and mix in Burgundy Wine (a dark purple). More purple for the darkest shadows, but at least 10% burgundy wine even for the lighter ones. From there I went into a 50/50 mix of Fair Skin and Vampiric Shadow, then pure Vampiric Skin for the highlights. On top of that, I went back with some subtle blue and purple glazes under the eyes, cheeks, and nose. That might be more complicated than you, but hopefully it gives you some ideas to mess around with.,
