ROYAL MAIL SABOTAGE HARBINGER SUBSCRIPTIONS!

It has been brought to our attention that Royal Mail have somehow managed to mislay several of our mail bags. For those who don’t know; all subscriptions are packaged individually and then collected into sorting bags which Royal mail then collect from us, open at their sorting office and send on their way. These bags can contain anything from ten to fifty separate subscriptions. It appears that Royal Mail have lost several of these bags, this is the first time this has happened to us and we are in the process of looking into the situation and trying to track down the missing subscriptions (not knowing how many bags are missing or what their destinations were is causing a delay in the investigation). If you haven’t received your copy of issue 13 please email us at: missingsubscriptions@harbingermagazine.com and we will add it to our investigation list and get back to you as soon as we receive more information.

All that remains is for me to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused. The system we now have in place for subscriptions has proved incredibly slick and has resulted in a drastic drop in shipping times, especially for our overseas subscribers. This problem seems to be an isolated incident based at a sorting office and (hopefully) will not happen again.

All the best

I am not surprised something like this has happened. I have got to the stage now where I dare not have anything of value sent through the post.
I have a good number of articles that are supposed to be coming ti me from different places that are not or just do not ever arrive. I have got to the stage where I feel that someone somewhere is interfering with the post and anything interesting is being held back and (lost or in other words taken).
This is a serious accusation I know but far too many items are simply not getting to me.
In my case the common link is my sorting office.
T sympathise with people awaiting there Harbinger magazine as I know just how infuriating it is when the thing you are waiting for just does not get through. (Rant Over).

No surprise here either.

I have next to no faith in the Royal Mail.
All my videogames and DVD\'s come from Canada. I\'ve had no problems for the last three years then all of a sudden, the last FOUR things I ordered just never arrived, in spite of being shipped months ago.

The programme I saw on TV where the staff in the sorting offices were secretly filmed opening the envelopes and pocketing anything that took their fancy didn\'t entirely inspire me with confidence either

Granddad!
If it\'s any help....

....my Harbinger arrived OK, If it helps with sorting out what went missing

...on the other hand, my stuff from Hasslefree never arrived, it was ordered on the 2nd Oct, so I\'m pretty certain Inge would have posted it by now.
The sooner it\'s completely automated the better.......

I think anyone that they find hijacking the mail and steeling needs to be soundly thrashed and thrown in a cell with \'bubba\' to talk things out on a rather personal basis.

Back at my old address, I used to recieve mail that looked like it had been \'pawed\' and more than once I ordered something off ebay or amazon, only to find the box shreded and something missing. Amazon rep that I talked to said they had an investigation on one sorting center as it seemed a majority of it was occuring at that locale.

Hope they got the bugger.

Hope \'bubba\' got him too.

I got my issue 13 already. Having said that, I also received a package from Royal mail, with 3 mouldy letters addressed to me and an apology which basically said that the casual they had employed to deliver my mail was responsible for the missing (mouldy) mail and that he was no longer working for them. This is not an isolated incident either. They have been employing a lot of casuals nationwide because they made a lot of their long term staff redundant. BBC Watchdog did a feature on the state of Royal mail the other day.

Ugh, UK mail sounds pretty bad. Glad issue 13 made it out of the country and into my mailbox ok. As did all others by the way. Good luck getting everything corrected.

I just thought I should let people know, I\'ve sent them about six emails about this matter and they have not responded to one. I recommend that no one start a subscription with them or renew their subscription. They are definitely becoming underhanded and I don\'t think anyone should deal with them anymore. Zen.

Hi, I\'m in the same boat not having received the magazine. I emailed on the regular contact us link and received a prompt reply (this was before the post on the website) I e-mailed the same link on Monday night (Oz time) asking for more information. The return e-mail stated they were expecting to hear something from the Royal Mail on Thursday UK time. I\'ve had a rsponse to every enquiry so far, the specific e mail address may be so they can gather numbers and respond en masse when they know what they are going to do.

I have never had any problems with getting a response from them before, in fact when I wanted to get a second Harbinger of the North they responded the same day with a link for paypal to get it. I have to assume that this is the case - they are waiting until they have a solution before contacting anyone.

@Zenmaster: You are \"out of order\" making that kind of statement/allegation on an open forum.

I suggest that if you have a problem that you could contact via PM either Harbinger or Unclehex.

So far I have had only positive dealings with Harbinger and I know that they are only a small team dealing with the publishing.

Hello,

Many thanks to those of you who are bearing with us and to Dragonsreach for defending our name.

Paintingploddy and Primeval: You are 100% correct, we have been using the missingsubscriptions@harbingermagazine.com address to collate the relevant information at our end in order to help Royal Mail with their search. As paintingploddy pointed out this email address was set up to gather information and give us a grouping of subscribers for a mass email once we had any useful information for them. Until we had that information it would have been a slight waste of our time (time that could have been better spent looking into the problem) to continually email people with \"Still no info... still no info... still no info....\" until us (and they) were pulling their hair out.

Ok, here is what we know:

Initially we thought that there were approximately 800 missing subscriptions. It seems that the number is a lot less (around 200) and comes mainly from the \'ROW Zone 1\' bracket (Rest Of World Zone 1) which contains (for all intents and purposes) any addresses outside of the UK or Western Europe.

Royal Mail have been very helpful and have been able to locate the dockets and paper work for the missing bags, proving that they are no longer \'lost\' and are within the Royal Mail system as we speak. Considering how busy Royal Mail are at this time of year they have done a good job trying to help solve this problem. As it stands right now we don\'t know where the packages are, only that they are in transit and on their way to their destinations, which is a big weight off our minds as at one point we believed there could have been as many as 800 subscriptions lost forever somewhere. As soon as we have any more information we will let everyone know.

And once again I apologise for the inconvenience, the delay and the ranting...
