Rust effects with Vallejo liquid gold paints?

On the Vallejo website, it says to keep water away from their liquid gold line of metallic paints because water could cause the metallic components to rust. So I was wondering, could one take advantage of that and create real rust effects by using water with this paint line?

theoretically yes, but rusting can take time and it may not stop at the point you want.
So I'd rather stay with pigments + spec products or simply by the vinegar + steelwool combo (takes about a week to oxidise the wool like that, and bam, real rust that you can apply like a pigment).
