rust on black armor on terminagtor chaplain XD

okey... here is the thing... I have some probs with painting my terminator chaplain... I need advice painting black armor and rust untill now I have been painting the rust as a mix of blazing orange, bestial brown and blood red. if you have a better mix, please post it here...

A dark brown dabbed on with blister pack foam, then lined with a light silver and dark grey.

I would say a Space marine wouldn\'t have rust on it.

Aren\'t their Armour made out of some composite material, not metal?

maby... I have no idea actually... I am painting it as a display piece. so I don\'t know a very lot about sm anyway XD

its true, spacemarine armour wouldnt rust at all, but just for aesthetics it looks very good.

for rusting, i like to use a mix of, snakebite leather, bestial brown, a tiny amount of catachan green, a little flesh wash, and a small amount of blck ink. it shouldturn out to be a dull smokey brown colour. i dont think this would turn up over black though, i use it with A LOT of water like u would with inks. But it would be possible to paint the areas u want to rust with white, and then rust them.

Terracotta and Blazing Orange mix.

Or just buy some MIG rust and mix it with matt varnish.

Screw the fluff if you\'re not going to use it as a gaming piece anyway! If you think it will look good with rust on the black armour, then go for it! Perhaps you should combine it with some chipped paint and some pure metal shining through in places to make it more apparent where the rust is coming from?

keeping in mind that the metal could be black, not just painted black, i wonder what the rust could look like...
