Got nowt to do with sour grapes.

I\'m a happy man now we\'ve done the Aussies and got through to the semis. I\'d rather England played NZ than France mind. I\'d just like to see the Argies (or possibly Scotland) beat SA. All good fun!

:D

England have also reached the semi-finals with one of our weakest sides for a long time... makes beating the Aussies even sweeter!

Oh! and until we are dumped out of the comp and someone else wins it - we ARE still the world champions ;)

Great weekend of Rugby.
Like everyone else I was shocked that we beat Oz, and then even more shocked that NZ choked like beasts and went out as well!

Part of me really wants to see an Argentina v France final. Grudge match of the tournament!

Come on then folks, any pre-match thoughts.
I fancy England (for probably the first time in the tourney). It\'s not just over-optimistic \'Englishness\', I just think we\'ve got the game... (plus I\'m praying for the \'majestic French\' one week followed by the \'anti-climactic French the week after...)

Well it looks like England are still playing on their luck and have managed to beat France in a medioca game dominated by the boot and penalties apart from their one try in the first 2 minutes.

YAWN!

Not bad for a \'crap\' team

My heart is absolutely pounding... it wasn\'t particularly pretty but who gives a flying shit.... we\'re in the final!!!!!!!!!

Now, now, WG, that wasn\'t just luck. It wasn\'t pretty but the lads put in the hard graft. Both teams missed opportunities.

Well, if England are to relinquish the cup it ought to be in the final.

I do feel as thought I\'ve aged a few years over the past couple of games.

Can\'t believe the French Player who \"Fluffed\" grabbing the ball to be completely bowled over by the English laddie with enough momentum to carry both of them over to make a try.
Now that was a classic moment in sport.

DR that is the sort of thing that happens when you play players out of position, the French guy is normally a centre, the other week they played him on the wing and yesterday they played him at fullback???

To be honest I think there was no way the French guy was going to stop that try once he had missed the ball to that bounce, he completely miss read it and had no time to recover, somebody coming in at that speed is going to bowl anybody over.

I still say England were lucky though :D

Why?

It looked like grim determination to me. They put in the work and got the result... I can\'t see how that equates as \'luck\' ???

We scored the only try... whether it was based on an error or not, Lewsey was in the right place for the play and capitalised... not luck in my opinion just good open play.

Go on WG explain the luck thing :)

I was not saying the try was luck, it was a very good try and probably one of Englands best.

The luck was the rest of the game, I found it a medioca and uninspiring game to watch, the English backs played a deep line which lost them territory and a lot of the time forced Wilkinson to kick.

A lot of the kicks for touch went straight to the French player waiting for it.

I am not saying the French played a briliant game or anything both sides made their fair share of mistakes.

Or does it seem that England got a monumental boot up the arse early on in the tournament, and are now playing to their potential? There are far too many mutterings of poor performances from their opponents.

@reverend: If SA is to lose one game, for my sake, I pray it will be vs Argentina. Losing to England in the finals will be far too much humiliation now. lol
