Last night I started work on the hands:

Foolishly, after my recent 'Evil Clown' sculpt I thought the hands'd be a breeze. No chance! What a challenge. I continued them tonight...

You may notice I've sculpted one of the flat/sharp keys to add a bit more realism. Worth me pointing out he'll be a touch taller eventually. When removed from the cork I'll be sculpting the soles of his shoes so he'll hopefully look a little less squat.

I can't remember if I'd mentioned in an earlier post but I'd thought it'd be cool to sculpt a buskers flat cap (full of change) as a fun accessory:

Vaguely pleased at the hat so far. It was sculpted over a simple wire loop.

Have you seen these?

Cheers - I have seen the Scibor one. Hands I certainly need to practice!

I've attempted to improve the folds on the back of his trousers. I'll do the same with his bum in my next sitting! I'll have to wait for the putty to cure before I sculpt the lock/key fittings for the elbow joins. I may add a similar fitting between the chest and the accordian.

Nearly finished. The cuffs are a little on the big side but were sculpted that way to disguise the join when glued. This is something I'll hopefully improve on with practice.

great job ! looks like pete postlethwaite.[/IMG]

He keeps reminding me of this preculiar chap:

...never seen the program but looks the spitting image!

Well, I can finally breathe a sigh of relief as he's done (and submitted):

He's 28mm to the eyes and sculpted from Procreate. Wish me luck as I've entered him into...

...and finished just in the nick of time! One hour to spare...

I've slowly been neatening up this sculpt and adding peg/hole fittings.

Here is my proposed sprue layout for casting:

Hopefully I'll have this cast some time very soon...

Following a slight mishap with his hair, I performed a bit of minor surgery and added more hair to the back of the head in the hope of making the casts a little more secure:

In order to aid the casting I've widened the peg/hole fittings (the peg will after all serve as a flow vent for the resin). I've also added a third 'locator' pin to aid assembly as I found the fitting was a little loose. I've neatened up one of the accordian body halves too (sorry, don't know the technical name!):

All that remains is to sculpt the slottabase tag and neaten the joins between the wrist and torso. Then, he's ready for casting!

I've neatened up the join between the wrist and hands. All that should remain now is the slottabase tag.

I plan to send him for casting on Monday morning. Anybody who may be interested in a resin cast of my Sad Clown sculpt can send me private message (that way I'll know how many casts to order!). Alternatively, my email address is madclownminiatures at hotmail dot co dot uk.

The Pie weilding clown is already available and the robots will be released for sale alongside my Sad Clown :)
