Sad girl, happy painter !

Hi Y'all.

Finally done with the sad girl, this is probably one of the minis I most enjoyed painting, very nice sculpt, though somewhat on the small side, lol.
Quite proud of myself on this one, some things I tried that seemed to work well, namely the osl; okay it is a bit subdued, somewhat more visible irl, but I happy just not to have totally screwed it up. I'm also happy with my basework, tho it didn't come up so well in the pics. You can also see a bit of freehand which I think is an improvement as well.

After a very unpleasant event involving super glue (yikes) towards the end, I almost gave up on her, but I'm glad I didn't, I can now move towards the next one with a clear head.

I'll be glad to hear your comments, on the pics also, cause I've been told my last ones were quite rubbish :p

Voting will make her a little less sad

EGADS!!

I've commented twice on this thread, and it keeps freezing!!

One more try....I like the base. It helps creat a very cool mood. The earth through the looking glass is really cool. Love the skin tone.

The skin does seem grainy, not sure what is going on there. Also, I don't really care for the yellowish hair. it seems too bright and pulls away from that somber mood you've got going on.

Overall, one of your best!!

Hey thanks Supervike!

Yeah, I know about the grainyness, my guess is that my varnish went bad, or maybe there were specks of dust floating about the garage were I sprayed it. It don't show irl, bad surprise when I took the pics :\
I thought it just called for a blondie, maybe I should have done it a bit darker tho.

Agree with what vikey said, about the graininess and the hair. The graininess is prolly fluff from the beginning..been there myself and regretted not doing anything about it later. Don't liek the lava either, doesn't really add to it and rock around lava flows tends to be black. Otherwise great work on such a TINY model. Most people don't appreciate how bloody small she is

Thanks for the input guys.

I dunno about what you said freak, it didn't seem this way before the varnish, here a wip shot near the end, there are still some imperfections on the surface, which is hard to avoid at this scale, but nothing this grainy:

I think fom now on I'll shoot my minis first, then seal them for protection.

Thank you for the nice comments on the submission page, really brightens my day ;
That's a good thing because if I was focusing on the score, I would be quite bummed actually.
