Huh.. it\'s not up on CMON yet but I still want some feedback and constructive criticism that could help me I tried a number of new things for me... freehand, heavily inking my metals to achieve a desired effect, and nearly all the main colors are mixes Then I tried some stubble on his face and noggin\' that came out really well.

Yep, his head and face definatly look scruffy. If I ever make a mini of myself, I\'ll have to do something simliar, as all Swans have the worst case of 5 o\'clock shadow.. even after we shave. I think the checks could be brighter, as some of the red is showing through and makes the white pinkish. To me, the tubes and scroll seem a bit flat, so next time you may keep in mind some more shadowing. But overall, a good looking peice for battle or a large group (which Inquistor henchmen usually come in)

Great, Calavera, from what I can see, those are excellent skin tones, and awesome stubble. The checker pattern turned out pretty good, too.
I\'d just like to see some better pics, less blurry, and with a bit more light.

Can you please tell me how ya did that stubble?

Yes. I love that stubble.
There is an article in Harbinger #2 on how to do 5 o\'clock shadows. It looks like the same technique.

Chrispee: About the checks.. I was trying to get that rackham-ish look they get on their checks.. by glazing over them with the robe color.

Nelson: Moybe... I\'ll probably snap some pics later today.

The stubble was really simple. The skin was Dwarf Flesh + Codex Grey... + Skull White for highlights, then I just mixed some codex grey into the final highlight mix and took a stiff synthetic brush(2/0) and sort of painted/stippled/overbrushed it on.

And what the hell is an 5\'o clock shadow :/ Did I accidentally do something without knowing of it ?

i think that youd get the rackham effect youre talkin about on the checks if u watered some skull white down (more watered down than an ink, transperant) and went over the white checkers for a couple layers, itd keep the reddish/dirty look, and still be obviously white

A five o\'clock shadow is when a fellow\'s (or unfortunate russian woman\'s) whiskers start reappearing around five o\'clock or so. Right now I\'ve got about a 1 week shadow, but I\'m still enteraining dreams of having a full blown beard by the time I\'m in my senior year.

Don\'t do it I had a good beard at University and found out only recently that all my pals called me captain birdseye ( I was twenty) http://www.captainbirdseye.co.uk/

Back on track I really like the 5 o\'clock shadow as well. A better photo may help. The checking is good I have found that type of regular pattern very difficult to get spot on.

Ah, now I see.. I guess I thought it was something else, as the black stayed dark and Rackham usually has lighter darker areas... if that makes any sense.
