Saint Celestine

Hi there mates!

I know that posting my poorly painted Celestine in a neighborhood of Razza ARTWORK is like shooting into my own feet, but i would like to recive some criticysm and comments.

It\'s a commision job for a friend. He ordered such color sheme, and painting standard to match his army.
Miniature has been covered with a satin varnish (couse it\'s for gaming), that\'s why it is little glossy.

The metallics are truly awesome, but I think the mantle is a let-down for this miniature. The freehand on the bakc looks cool but I find it to dark. An extreme highlight wouldn\'t have been out of place IMHO.

The khaki loin cloth also looks a little odd. Adding some more depth would have really finished it

you know you can put matt over satin to remove the sheen (i use a couple of gloss coats followed by some matte cos i am so clumsy)?

i feel the pic is letting this down. is there a reason why you didn\'t use a more converntional blue-white? i think the 2 extremes really detract from the paint job

i agre, the loin cloth could do with some more depth.i would also add text to the purity seals

being nit picky, you can see some finger prints on the base too!

the osl is subtle and quite effective, something i have never managed!

don\'t go comparing yourself to razza, he\'s a pro! yours is still very good

First of all, thank You for Your comments.
As i said before this is only a gaming piece, so no big deal here.
I found a strange gloss thirst among the players (at least in wroclaw/Breslau). So the whole armys are shining like \"dogs balls on an Estern\" (polish idiom). At least i\'v coated her with satin varnish (less shine, but still glossy).

You\'re perfectly right about the lion cloth and her cape, both are flat.

A luna -> Thx for Your comment about my NMM...i must say i like it also. Especialy this sculls with wings under knee pads, and ithe halo ring...
