hey CMON...

i painted this mini a few months back as a test piece for a potential customer...
some of you will have seen him in the painting forum back when i was workin\' on him, but i never submitted him in my gallery...

he was lookin\' for a tabletop army that would stand out...
he requested a darker green to the standard sallie green...
luckily the markings and jet black skin keep him from being mistaken for a dark angel marine...

the twin plasma pistols was something i had been waiting to paint...
i think they go well with the screaming head...
the shoulder pads have had the detail carved off the surfaces, and the markings have been painted freehand...
the base is a wyrd miniatures base insert...

i\'m curious to see how he\'ll score...

That is one dark battle brother lol I think he looks great! A bunch of these on a tabletop would definitely look sharp :) Good work!

Wow :D All the marines you paint (I have only seen two) have such great armour! I really like how the color is built up from really dark to really bright at the edges. Do I see zenith lighting or is my eyes failing me? Also, how many layers of paint would you use on the power armour to get it to look like that :)?

Am I the only one who thinks the GW fluff messed up big time when they gave the Salamanders Jet black skin and red eyes? I think they should maybe have given them a dark ashen color or just very dark but not black! And not red eyes!

Sorry, just some GW frustration that needed to be vented :p

i agree...
i like the salamanders that i\'ve painted with dark brown skin, but the customers get what they want...
if it wasn\'t for my shite photography, this guy\'s skin would look much cooler...the reflection on his forehead is really killin\' me...

the armour is just as simple as it can be...
three colours...
mostly the armour is the dark green, washed with P3 armor wash to give it some life, then a green highlight on all the edges, and finally a bright green to show the direction of light, and make it pop...

Can\'t believe you made the armour so good with so few colors
