Hi there,

just finished up my latest work, which was really inspired by vincenti\'s work on his salamander since he put him on CMON and finally i had the chance to take the time to pay this great inspiration my honour...

Hope you like my version - let me know what you think and what i can do better next time...

Beautifully done.

I love the face - really full of character.

I have looked at it for a while now and the only thing that doesn\'t sit right for me is the back half of the hammer where it is kind of light blue. I don\'t know what it is about it that doesn\'t feel right to me though. I am not so well-up on the fluff for 40K so guess it is some kind of energy type weapon and is supposed to glow blue. Actually looking again at the comments you recieved someone is praising just that so I guess it just comes down to personal preference.

However as a complete piece it is fantastic!!

@ Freak: lol - until I looked at the pics again I thought you played an opposing army! (I thought you were referring to the salamander himself)

@jarhead: It looks great! I love the green that you used and overall atmosphere of the piece. The facial features look fantastic as well. Was the pose inspired at all by Lysander? Until I read your summary I had thought this model was converted from a Lysander core. Either way it looks really great. Voted.

Thx for your Feedback guys. Yeah, the Lysander feeling pushed this glueing of the guy in the same kind of direction, but still holds him a little different...

I did an inkonsequent step-by-step of that guy, if anyone is intrested (sorry for keeping it still in German - i hope i will find time in the summer to translate some of my tutorials in english to put them on CMON)...

Wonderfully done! I really like the base work and that you got some drama in the pose. One of the problems I have with SM sculps in general is that they can sometimes look like they\'re all just standing there with their arms and legs sprawled out.

I also really like that you snuck in some lighting effects. The blue lighting on the back of the shoulder pad is a cool touch.

One thing I\'d point out is a couple highlights (the three bands on the hammer and some spots on the shield) look a little chalky. I\'m very sensitive to that right now because I\'m fighting it in my own work.

I really like your work. Voted... I gave it a nine.

Great job. (voted and commented)

I love the base, he\'s rugged and hard looking even with his light green armor... which is really something to pull off. great work.

Thx for voting and your commentary here. I am still in practice to evoid this chalky effect mixing white in brings - not that easy but your critic is well placed and you\'ve spotted exactly the points i am not very happy with... Thx for your eagle-eye...

Now it\'s time to honour the comments back ;)
