Mike where are we meeting up this year as I missed last years show - we still going for the Costa coffee place or somewhere nearby?
Becca (BoristFrog) came up with a brilliant idea last year, so we took squatter rights on one of the seating areas around lunchtime.
Come through the entrance doors and head to starboard. (I've looked at the layout plan on Salutes website and it's basically the same as the last few years.)

We're looking forward to seeing you again mate, hows the suntan?

Suntan is very good :) although I have a few tan lines on my suntan from wearing boots and shorts instead of sandles which I will need to work on before I come home lol

I took a months leave here which is why I'm not home yet as I wanted to do some more work on a conservation project that we started, hence wearing boots as coconut trees are bloody heavy even when chainsawed into logs.

Don't think I will be entering the painting comp though I will leave that for another day :)

There's usually a gang of CMoNers, PBers and TBers* in one corner loitering looking disreputable (and therefore easy to spot). There's a big seating area (well, there was) to the right as you go through the main gate.

Be warned theres two coffee shop's, we waited at one for ages before looking at the other one.

*examples of all three can be personified in one person, usually with the same username.
Guilty of being a member of all three lol as for the coffee I will probably need lots of it as it takes a while for me to get over jet lag as I can't sleep on aircraft

I'd really like to come to Salute and GD France but can't :( Damn expenses!

Could anyone going do me a favour...ask the Forgeworld folks for ANY information they are willing to give on the rumoured Forgeworld Fantasy group? (ie. plans to start doing fantasy releases; possibly under a different sub group name, or something?)

Wondering if they have started any works yet or when we may see anything from this fantasy group (as most of you know, Forgeworld normally does 40K stuff) and of course, what models they are thinking of doing :) (I'm hoping for a Couatl, and Thunderlizard for the lizardmen, and custom chaos warriors, along with daemon princes, etc)

I'm really excited about Salute - going under our own steam to a convention and not representing another company - feels good;) - Have lots to do before then so I hope this month goes nice and slow.

I live in London so it wouldn't be too difficult to get to. What's the setup like? I don't really play wargames so is it worth going to purely for the miniatures/painting?

Cool, OK I'll go. But dragonsreach if you turn out not to actually be Magnum P.I. I'll be terribly disappointed.

Magnum P.I. better be there...

Well I'm younger than Tom Selleck, shorter than Tom Selleck and nowhere near as much money as Tom Selleck.
As for the Hawiain Shirts..I only have a couple and No I won't be wearing either of them.

Is the parking still a tenner for the day?

Anybody in the Medway or Maidstone areas need a ride, I now have a nice spacious Serena with plenty of room, just asking for help with the petrol, I'll take care of the parking

I was looking at the plan in wargames miniatures mag and I think the LEFT side seating looks better this year as it's closer to Hasslefree - and that's an easy way to remember it! Whadda ya reckon?

I'll see you all there, but be warned I'm planning to disguise myself in girl clothes!

That's probably a good idea as the seating on the right is next to the bring 'N' buy, which could get a bit crouded
about what time are we taking it over again?

Oh yeah, I could pick up from Gravesend as it's on the way too, got room for 4-5 comfortably

erm, the paint stained jeans are full of super glue related holes - I haven't been very nice to them since last year's incident. I still need a new pair.

Last year meet up was 1pm ish, to give folks time to arrive, enter the painting comp (deadline is 12) and do some shopping. It then kind of latest in various fashion till the awards later in the afternoon.

Anybody who knows if Forgeworld will be selling their limited models at Salute or if these are only available at Games Day?

I´m thinking of the Runtbot, skwadron commander and Krieg Rider.

All those models will be available at Salute should you be able to get them before they sell out. I've pre-ordered the runtbot. I'm coming down from Grantham with a pal of mine so I'll be lurking about somewhere. I was hoping to enter the painting contest but there is no way I'll get my entry done, just not enough time left with work and all.

give them a ring and they'll reserve them for you to collect on the day
