Salute 2013?

Every once in a while I hear about the Salute convention in the UK and it has caught my interest. As I can only find limited information regarding Salute 2013 I thought some of you might be able to help me out...

What can I expect? Is it more for the wargamer or miniature enthusiast? Are you going? How do I get tickets? Is there beer?!

In the distant past I went to Games Day (twice). I loved seeing the original art work and found meeting the sculptors invaluable. If (as I expect is the case) this is similar to GD but from a wider cross setion of the community then it sounds pretty good.

Is there usually a good turnout from CMON members?

Salute is my favourite show. LOADS of mini companies, historicals/sci-fi/fantasy/pulp/other. Big companies to tiny boutique shops. A comp that gets better and harder to win year by year. lots of guys go, you have fodders, frothers, cmoners and pb guys, who you may know. Not a huge amount of beer. I think the frothers may bugger off to a local place buy it's usually caffeine fueled. Most drinking is the night before or night after if staying over

Tickets are available from the site, book hotel now to avoid disappointment

There is something there for all types of enthusiast with such a wide variety of companies on show.
It was the first show we went to as a company and are booked for 2013 met a lot of people from cmon and looking forward to seeing a lot more this time.
As a hobbyist enjoyed the show and would reccomend it to anyone.

My first major comp was salute 2012 and I've got to say the standard was excellent. Met loads of CMON members Dragonsreach 10 ball squidders Megazord man too name but a few. The stalls were varied and numerous some great deals to be had; lots of haggling and loads of freebies! Got half a dozen minis for nothing and they were of a very good standard. Also plenty of paint stations met world class GD gold winners and chewed the fat with them. Plenty of gaming going on as well with lots of different systems, everything from WH40k to new home grown systems and even an area were you could hsve a go with remote controlled tanks!!! Easy to get to venue and way better than GW games day. It's were the grown ups go to play as SkellettS put it ;)

I was starting to wonder as it's not on the Excel centre calendar for April and I can't find a link there or the Salute website where I can buy tickets?!

[edit] I'm told tickets go on sale in the New Year. Cassar do you know something we don't?

Looking forward to it very much. I went as a punter last year and it had a great range of models available from tons of companies and the painting comp was very cool. Lots of decent folk there too who I chatted to.

This year I've got a stand to sell Infamy stuff from along with some other UK independent companies, so that will be excellent. I expect everyone to stop by and spend lots of money on my wares! ;) And I'll need to know if there is any sort of drinking going on the night before/after the show to properly get into the vibe. Can't do a trade show without feeling at least a little hungover and green around the gills!

If you did some form of raffle - random winner at the end of the day - that would pull more people to your stand - and potentially increase sales as well as rising your profile.
Utilise the SALUTE brochure if you can.... might as well maximise perception of InfamyMiniatures...

With every purchase get your name included into the prize raffle.. sort of thing. gets a database of people contacts, and promote your business
