Samurai Style backbanner...?

I\'m going to build a 500 pts wolrider army, but I want to give my gobbo general on wolf a samurai style backbanner, but I don\'t know what to use as bannerpole. I thought about copperwire but it\'s too easy to bend. Zo does someone know what to use?

I mean a banner like this:

For a brief moment in time, I was going to do this to all of my high elf cavalry. I\'ve since scrapped the idea. :D I was going to use some very thin finishing nails I had I think, they were just a little thicker than sewing pins.

Copper, brass or plastic rod are all worth considering if they\'re available. Plastic\'s arguably better than metal because it\'s easier to glue and to glue things to, plus it has a lot of give so if you knock against it it\'s less likely to break off. I used Evergreen rod to replace the banner pole on a Chaos knight recently (so I could make it thinner and taller) and that flexibility has already come in handy! lol

Not a bad idea. One of the reasons I scrapped the metal pins idea was that some of them broke after assembly. :p

Not thin enough? I.ve 0.5mm lying around but personally at that thickness I would switch to steel wire. Plastic can be used too but is a bit vulnarable if less than 1mm. What I would suggest is to go to the local scale modelling store and got through their racks of plastic and metal rod materials to see if they have anything suitable.

Something else that might work for this purpose, that you might already have around the house: a wire clothes hanger. I had one that I straightened out a while ago, bent one end into a hook, and used it as a wire-pull to pull some speaker cables under a short width of carpeting. I then kept it around, figuring that it might be useful in some mini project one day. Very stiff, very strong, and seems like it would be the perfect diameter to match the picture in the first post, as well.

if you\'re not opposed to buying them, thePerry Brothers sell them to go with their Samurai range.

I don\'t know where you are, if you\'re UK i\'m sure they are easy to find . . I\'m in the US and ordered them from a stockist in canada, for about 7$ for 24, iirc.

if you\'re a little ambitious, and want some more in grand style for leaders or BSB, you could cut these up:
