I am planning on being in the Frisco area around the weekend of July 19th for a family event and I was wondering if there is anything mini-related going on in the area around that time?

Thanks!

Not that I\'m aware. There could be something smaller -- I don\'t follow the Northern California events all that closely -- but the big event in the Bay Area is KublaCon, and that takes place in late May (23-26 this year, specifically).

Nothing ever happens here! All we ever have is MacWorld! GW even closed their store in Meteon. I have to drive 60+ miles just to get to their SJ store. I guess people in my city are too hip to be into minis?! :p

Well...you get tired eventually...year after year...then you noticed that the keynote speaker is now really old.

July is right inbetween convention season here. We start off with Dundracon in Feb...the big Kublacon in May...and Conquest San Jose is in Sept.

Endgame is definitely one of the nicest-looking stores around with good gaming tables. My local store is Game Kastle down near San Jose, and is very big with good selections. In San Mateo is Gator Games, and in the City is Gamescape.

Do you have to pay if all you want is to check out the place for a few minutes?

No you dont. Kublacon\'s policy is that you need to register to play in games and enter the Dealers Room, though. Kublacon is held in the Hyatt - SF Airport, so it is open to the public.
