Save 11.4 square feet of rainforest everyday

You have probably seen these sites before. You click the link and save a cat / dog / tree every day. I don\'t know how they work, and I think we\'ll be extinct in the next few centuries either way, but maybe we can save a few acres of rainforest before that.

I like those kind of things. I would donate if I could, but then I would have to get my parents to do it for me.
I hate being 13 sometimes.
The gift cards when you give a present to someone in Africa and a card comes to the person you wanted to give a present to. It\'s like there was a cartoon when one boy asks another.
\'What did you get for christmas?\'
\'Oh, my aunt sent me a goat, but they delivered it somewhere in Africa. Unbelieveable!\'

Yeah looks like it. Not sure how it\'s funded though, all the ads are for charities. It might just be allocation of the donations they get.

A bit unclear how we\'re helping, but I clicked anyway :D Anything for a good cause. Plus, there was a Pygmy Marmoset on the page :innocent:

These things crack me up. One of the principle reasons for rainforest depletion in Central/South America is due to the increased western demand for cotton clothing. Guess what grows great in sub-tropical/tropical environs? Everytime I see hippies with cotton t-shirts that say \"Save the Rainforest\" I just roll. If they wanted to save the rainforest they could wear polyester.

Actually true hippies should wear hemp!
But most people latch onto a cause because it sounds nice, they don\'t bother to look into the details. How many people would support PETA if they knew they want to not only ban ALL pet ownership but seeing eye dogs, customs dogs, police dogs etc!

Many of the original hippies are now carrying briefcases, in Congress, lawyers etc.

Thats very true!! lollol

Of course, many more of them are now bald, can\'t remember their youth, and have a nasty venereal infection.

(note, I have nothing against hippies at all! I just like poking fun!)

Hippie Lawyers and congressmen/women are all wel and good, but when the chief witness is a monkey things tend to go downhill...
I laughed my ass off at the \"Tree Huggers vest\" lol
Hippies are great.

And pay convicted arsonists to blow up University labaratories. I mean really they have Pam Anderson as a spokeswoman. That should say it all.

Dood. Im still a hippy. I only use organic paint and drink green tea. I cant hug a tree tho cause I work indoors so maybe Ill hug a work mate and see what happens. Hmm just looked at him maybe I wont hug him. Im off to smoke my hemp clothes and run naked thru the workshop.

doesnt work.

otherwise hemp is amazing. it can be used to make just about anything, its easy to grow, and can be done so in high density. the production possibilities are amazing - a fiber that can be produced in a wde variety of environments, much more efficiently than cotton. the textile indistry would be turned upide down. you can even make pressboard out of the stuff, as strong as any wood product, and regrow the field every year. as far as functionality goes, hemp is king. the problem is that it would be far to accessable and useful - not a problem for us, but a problem for people owning cotton, and timber land.

caring about the environment is not \"uncool\" but people seem to have that attitude these days, and frankly, it sickens me.
