linux is good but xp is good because:
the 32 bit vertion of vista, which is on my laptop, can only take up to 3 gig of ram and the 64 bit vertion can take more but not less but you need to fiddle and faf about to get it to run xp programs and gams and what not.

Well I like to play games so no linux for me. Besides I have to fight with computers at work I really dont need that at home. I like XP Ive got it just the way I want ti. I have my machine ghosted so if it breaks I just reghost the box. Vista is a pile of PUSS. Bring on windows 7.

A lot of games will work on Linux now, some are native other you use different versions of wine. I have both cedega & crossoffice. I can run about 70% of games :)

I\'m suddenly having doubts about getting a new comp in a month or two. It\'ll have Vista on it most likely. Mind you, my current one has Win98.

I\'ve been looking at the system requirements on quite a few new games recently and I\'ve noticed that almost all of them require double the system specs if the computer is running vista. Surely a great deal of the point of having a new OS is to make more efficient use of system resourses, not halve the effectiveness of your computer...???

I just purchased a new computer recently and one of the requirements from the manufacture was it had to have XP, not Vista (or give me the option, anyway).

As far as games are concerned - I\'m running the Crysis demo full speed under XP and not a stutter or problem with anything. I figure that\'s pretty good and no reason to get \"upgrade\" to the headache that is Vista. Kinda reminds me of the whole Windows ME debacle.

Yeah, Games are a problem under Linux. I have installed XP on my PC too, on a small partition were this Billy Boy Cancer can not infect my whole computer (and has no connection to internet)...

I wonder what you think. But on these new games like Crysis and so on, there\'s this label saying: \"Games for Windows\". That just pisses me off, thats the worst add ever. Everytime I read that I\'m not buying the crap... lol

We don\'t even have to discuss the Hasta la Vista version/virus/trojan horse call it what you like.

Good grief, are there still people out there who do the hating on Microsoft thing? That tedious business grew tired a long time ago. It\'s almost as bad as people who think Linux is the solution to all of their proble... Oh, oops!

Get with the program. Start hating on Apple and using DOS for Christ\'s sake!
