1/80.5 is 20mm
1/76 is 21.2mm
1/72 is 22.4mm
1/64 is 25mm
1/56 is 28mm
1/54 is 30mm
1/48 is 33.5mm
1/43.5 is 37mm
1/40 is 40mm
1/35 is 46mm

hmm so i could use 1/64 - 1/48 for 28mm stuff depending on what it is

what about 54? was i right?

i forgot about different gauges. what would be ok for the 2 scales?

1/32 is roughly 54mm

even tho scale measurement is more accurate some companies products do differ.

it\'s realy difficult finding 1/64 and 1/56 scale products as they aren\'t as popular amongst modellers.

have a look at bam minis, they do WWII vehicles at 1/56 to go with their 28mm models.

1/32 = 54mm, yep. Note though: most \"54s\" these days are not made to this size, not even close, and the scale they\'re working towards is often not 1/32.

For minis I don\'t think the size/scale thing really works since the proportions are exaggerated, so it\'s more cartoony - oversize weapons being the classic illustration of this.

But if you do want to work from the same basis as 1/32, 28mm = 1/62 scale.

Is it? 1/35 equates with a nominal height of 49.3mm.

Well, I\'d go by the \'look\' way more than the strict adherence to scale.

1/48th scale works very well with 28-32mm figures.

Unless you are working with only one manufacturer, I\'d say stay away from scale and go by looks completely. I realize this is not always possible on the \'net.

Using it as a general guideline makes sense however.

yeah thats the problem. most online historical stuff doesnt even have a pic of the model, only concept art. it\'s crap. i\'d never buy anything i haven\'t seen

there aren\'t many companies that do that still.

trouble is the definition of \"scale\" is not the same throughout the industry.

Some measure from the base to the top of the head for a six foot tall \"average\" man.

Otheres measure from the top of base to eyes.

Some just say to heck with scale - ours is \"heroic\" for whatever that is worth.

All are 28mm.
