scanned vs. photo

So now three weeks later I have a photo to compare to the scanned version of the mini.

Which do you think came out better?

Admittedly, my photography skills are not the best ...

The colours are so different between these, which one is more accurate? I like that the photo lets us see the face, you\'ve done some nice work there. It is, unfortunately, a little more blurry than the scan.

I hate to say this, but...

...in the examples you have provided the scanned image is better.
However, you wont be able to improve on the scanned image - that\'s it I am afraid.
As for the photographed image, well don\'t take this the wrong way, but there is a lot of room for improvement here and IMO a good photographed image will always beat a good scanned image.

I go for the scanned being better , the photograph looks like the flash washed a lot of the detail away . But like has been said by Finn , once you get your photography skills up , there should\'nt be a comparison

I think y\'all are right.

I think I know what I need to do to improve my photography, but I have yet to get my act together.
