Scoring pics on upload

And a frustrating default at that. How am I supposed to pad my submissions if it gives me a six even when I click on 10?

I don\'t really like having to score my work on upload, if I\'m honest. I never guess right, it seems pigheaded and I\'m not even sure it counts as a proper vote, seeing as I\'ve had my own work pop up at me when on a voting spree. Any chance of it being done away with?
Lets take a look at this subjectively.
We all think that the Figure(s) we are putting up is(are) worthy of others attention otherwise what is the point.
So therefore we have options, 10 of them in fact.
We can either promote ourselves as \'I think this is far better than anyone elses work\' and make it a 10. (Then watch it get sniped down)
Or at the bottom end of the range mark it as a 1 and hope that people will regard it as higher then that and vote it up. (Actually I\'ve never seen that happen)
Personally I used to opt for the default and let the voting balance out.
But if it where my option I\'d lock the initial posting vote at the middle point and let voting balance out everyone rather than some of the skewed voting we\'ve seen.
