As long as you are aware. You may go with a voodoo/witch doctor kind of theme. Using warpaint to make a stylized skeleton on the face, arms, legs, ribs and such. May or may not work for your plan. But with that flint weapon I would lean towards Native American, or maybe Australian Aborigines. Focusing on black and white war paint, maybe blue or ochre as a bit of contrast. I certainly wouldn't go bright yellow. Either way, looking good so far. BTW, go ahead and do the Troll King if you want, I think it would be a good mini for you to show off with.

I love the concept for the Axe but atm the execution isn't working for me as it's not really standing out all that much. Try to create contrast in the mini as that will really bring a lot of the colors to life for you. I agree with Chad on the transitioning as atm it looks more like just the recessess are different and the skin tone is flat. Look at Skells thread as he is a great example of contrast. Finally your doggie is soooooo cute, and love the GF :). Too bad I'm married though... and love my wife.....yes...I think I love my wife hrmmmm.

Emphasis on the important part. Sadly that dog has already found his way into delicious stew. Poor dog.

If the ax looks dull its because I dulled it down with a pigment a wet brush can fix that thankfully but the brown needs to be darker. I haven't yet done the highest high lights in the skin and the transitions haven't been glazed. Hopefully when I post the pics of that done those complaints will disappear. If not than well see what I need to do at that point but I agree right now plus there are some rough patches that need some more work as well. Skell is one of the inspirations for how I paint light and shadow so needless to say I read his thread :p.

I like the idea of an aboriginal theme too. I'm looking into their body paint to see what that is like.

I see where you were going with the axe now. Could look really cool with a bit more work. Might be worth looking at woad style battle paint too as i that style may fit the mini better than abo. The more options the better to make a inform opinion huh :)
Interested to see how this ends up

Clear your head.

Take the awesome dog and the beautiful GF out for a stroll.......

Nice work so far. Like the idea of the aboriginal theme.
