I took the final photos of the Rat Warrior sculpt I recently completed for GreyMatterFigures yesterday, who is now christened "Scrakch Bodyguard To Prince Skim". This is not the official product name though.

I am really pleased with how the photos came out actually, my best to date, just a little contrast, levels and sharpening done in Photoshop. I am also glad I waited to get the resin back before taking the pictures as the difference with the sculpt as one colour instead of grey and the greenstuff makes it a lot less confusing to look at. The link is below, any votes and comments are very much appreciated.

That's a pretty offensive signature you've chosen there DFB. At least bother to capitalise & punctuate eh?

Sorry if it does offend you mate. I was feeling angry when I chose that as my sig, you know with all the shit that is going on in the world at the moment. It is my opinion though and not written lightly or without thought (maybe a little crudely though) as I love reading about religious history and mythology, its interesting stuff. However I also read that talk of politics and religion is unwise in certain circles and I think maybe that this internet forum is one of those circles so I will change it shortly anyway, give me time to find a cool quote or something.

Non-ranty reply much appreciated DFB. It can be hard to know when/how to voice these things (both your sig & my comment).

There must be room to phrase the sentiment though, "All Extremists, cultists, fundamentalists & murderers give faith a bad name. Stop ruining my day! And Scientology, you don't even feature on my faith radar you money grubbing abusers of the vulnerable."

Could fiddle all day but hopefully you get the gist :)

I think I wrote that comment in some argument with a scientologist Clone Trooper somewhere and I let my agression flow (strong is the darkside within me -hhhmmmmmnnnn). You summed up the overall sentiment up very nicely there, but I found a good Ab Lincoln one to use. I will probably just change it again to a banner to my website when I eventually get to making it look nicer and more operational. One day. The quote is...

"Every man is said to have his peculiar ambition. Whether it be true or not, I can say for one that I have no other so great as that of being truly esteemed of my fellow men, by rendering myself worthy of their esteem."
Abraham Lincoln

Not a bad one, I m sure he has a bunch though, only have 5minutes to spare out of my day for forum sigs though lol.

Nice one DFB :)

oh yeah, I had a quick squizz at the bust too! Very familiar, I think your rat busts are a running thread in the background of my first year on CMON. I'm glad that you managed to complete him after the winter hiatus. The thin nose style isn't to my taste but I do like the helmet. The skull device on the front sits well & the socket worm/leech looks as though it'll be pleasingly disgusting to paint :) Skull earring is a nice little touch too. I'm not 100% sure about the helm fin extending back into space as it does, just blocking in underneath it might be nice. Though if you're a Rat Prince's bodyguard I guess you take the armour you're given & damn well like it!

Now where's that thuggish cone-headed chap's update? ;)

Cheers, B.

Going for the badly cobbled together look for the helmet - scavenged scraps modified to fit type look. I like the thin nose style myself because to me it says sneaky, evil and skanky which is pretty much the stereotypical rat "personality".

More Thuggorre soon, baking him today to enable me to work on some details that need him to be baked really. I may also use hm as a starting point for the giant i want to do. I think he will make a great giant but as he is already 60mm, he will be huge on the gaming table, which I suppose is no bad thing....

Hey mate, the rat is about 14cm tall approx. Grey Matter have labelled him "Bad To The Bone". They label their stuff after their music! He is bad to the bone like most evil rat types though.
